If you had free reign of the club to run anyway you chose what changes would you make within the organisation from top to bottom

New ticket system, current 1 is far too slow and takes too long to buy at the door. New announcer is a must, give his box a lick of paint. Better links with junior development, possibly strike a deal with an EPL team for 2 ways. 14 imports, 3 power forwards that hit all night, at least 1 D man that can play physical and drop them. Scrap all the current brits and sign a couple capable off playing in all situations and bleed in some new youngsters which should have started years ago. A must is a better grip on PR and social media, it's free to use and ours is by far the worst in the league, let 1 or 2 knowledgable people run that side of it. A player coach who brings someone he trusts to run the bench during games, bye bye Todd and Jeff. Daytime training, a full time squad, no optional training, mandatory team gym/fitness sessions. 3 strike and you're out rule on being out the night before games...... that would do the trick.

1. Get rid of all the dead wood and hangers-on. 2. Appoint a Hockey Director to be in total charge of team affairs (let Tom & Jack get on with their day jobs) 3. Move out the coaching staff 4. Bring in a head coach with higher credentials / goals / up to date systems. 5. Bring in a young team with team toughness aka Devils hockey. 6. Genuine connections and development of KIHC players from at minimum 14s level 5. More fan connection and make Flyers the community club they should be (not a country club) 6. Pack the barn and raise the roof nightly to achieve THE GREAT NIGHT OUT. 7. Abolish the Small Team attitude forever.

Bring in a experienced GM, new coaching staff including strength and conditioning. Full time back room staff and medical team. Be a fulltime team across the board Brits and all. Practice through the day have game day skates. Off ice sessions.
Put firm rules in place and expectations on the team/players that will be representing this club. For example no drinking 3 days before a game.
Full time social media/PR and marketing staff.
Basically run it like a pro sports team should be run. Without being a smart a** its not rocket science.
Run KIHC in conjunction with the Flyers, increase the icetime of your juniors without increasing costs to their families. Bring all coaching staff together and put training plans in place for them throughout the club to drive their development as coaches as well as the players they coach.
Put plans in place for a proper pre season not just a few training sessions and a couple of games and hope for the best. Fitness testing ahead off training camp. Fail set levels and your gone.
I could go on but you get the point just run it as a professional team should be in todays game.

Just a few things i would change;- Seek major investors to put money in to the club giving the club a bigger budget to enable changes and compete with the bigger clubs for players
More discipline enforced on to players 3 strike rule on underperfoming players, and those who choose to go out on the **** before games. Have a curfew on each player. Have a limit on what they drink. If don't follow bench them, dock their wages if continue to break rules and don't perform to expectation get shot and replace. With more money put in to club this would be more viable as current players underperform and know that their will be no consequences.
An enforcer player. nickerson was a huge loss to the team for standing up for team mates, protecting players, and bringing bums on seats aswell as the revenue from sales. Defence needs an overall giving our goalie a better chance and not being left open.
A plan in place to cover injuries not leaving short bench over working guys. Also playing four lines.
Developing juniors needs changed young fife kids develop threw various stages of the club but hit stages of hitting flyers level and get poached by other clubs. Brits shouldn't be signed if not prepared to give them ice time and have them bench warming all season it over works the other players. And undermines the brit development. Imports should also be reduced giving brits more chances to develop
Better merchandise in the shop cheaper prices using one supplier to get discounts. Promotional offers like buy one get one free, 3for2 etc
More fan events (lots can be done that are cost effective and will attract youngsters who ultimately are the next generation of fans) & Player community involvement besides the school visits.
Better run PR, social media, more appealing website. Post season information regarding players who deffinetly are not returning, Retiring. Not leaving announcing of signed players till last minute. Properly thanking players for their service.
Period entertainment needs to be fresh and appealing chuck a puck in the truck is silly. So many things can be done inbetween periods
Commentary and dj needs a new approach, song choices are repetitive and poor and no fan interaction like in other clubs. Need go back to old school game nights and lift the roof of the barn. Get the guys pumped on the ice and give encouragement when loosing instead of hearing a pin drop.
Mascot present all threw the game interacting with crowds. Building up to the players arriving on the ice is currently poor.
A independent fan from the club to represent the opinion of fans to the board
Tar marc the car park and better lighting especially at night when it's dark awful to walk threw. Better seating half those plastic seats are broken and not very comfy.
The hall of fame and trophies on better display possibly inserting items in the boards that can be viewed when walking around the arena
Retiring jerseys of deserved players (example kyle horne gave years of service to the club with no thanks for the dedication he gave nor his jersey number retired immediately gave it to issacs)
Attracting more bums on seats the current free child tickets given to schools allows child with paying adult for larger families lot don't use these as it cost money to take the child to something they may not enjoy give a family ticket free to each child more families would be inclined to use them then and even more inclined to come back if enjoy the experience there for spending money regularly nothing to loose as these people wouldn't of came anyway.
Better perks with season tickets no exclusions on discounts on merchandise and discounts from various places in community
Complaints not generacly responded to and taken serious or just ignored
So much more can be done to provide an all round entertainment to go with the hockey and cut the divide between the fans the cliques and management to provide a welcoming community involved club and give the club a better chance in competing with the bigger clubs and give fans a club to be proud off

Start with the simple things and take a bit of pride in the ice rink. The car park looks like it has been hit by an airstrike, the DJ booth hasn’t been painted at all and the rest of it looks like it hasn’t been updates since it opened. Then there is the clock...
Then start with the PR, set up a link with the college to get students started on marketing / PR / Advertising etc. part time / full time while you’re on your course or an apprenticeship. Let them run the social media, do marketing for the club and put in their fresh ideas. They would jump at it and I honestly believe it would drag the PR up to at least the level of the other EIHL teams. Add Flyers TV into that too, why not approach STV edinburgh about showing things? the interviews and the highlights are fine but they could get far more exposure if more was done. If we are a gate based club then we need better PR.
Club run fan forum and supporters club. No club / director likes being criticized but there would be a lot of people who would input good ideas to take the club forward, sitting in your office with the door closed ignoring negative comments isn’t going to win the fans over… there needs to be more communication between the club and the fans.
More fan/player events like skate with the flyers. This year especially there seemed to be a disconnect between the players and the fans, more events where you could meet and speak to the players would help that! I know Braehead do quiz nights etc. things like that! And don’t charge for everything, let people in to these things but pay for food and drink. You will get more bums on seats in the games if people are bringing their friends / families to these events.
Designate an area of the ice rink for families and fill it with free tickets for school kids - Rotating schools weekly, not including certain games. Free kids ticket with 2 parents in for £10 (or something) By the time they get there they want a scarf, burger, programme, jersey etc. which is all money. They need to get the kids involved and grow the fan base. Higher attendances and a better atmosphere right away. Plus, they could end up coming back at full price!
The team is always the most important thing. Get a GM who knows the game inside out to run the day to day and a coach that plays exciting hockey. People want to watch good hockey if they’re going to part with their cash. Also, hiring a proper conditioning coach would be a step forward. Was Fox fit this season after his injury? Was Thinel fit at any point… out of the pub and into the gym, you’re paid to be a pro athlete! 3 strike rule in place. If todd had benched the 3 that were out drinking the night before a game, played the brits in their place and had been honest about why. I think the heat from the fans / team would have been on them and not the coach! Encourage Brits to be played too. Increase their playing time and make the top brits full time, No need to play 2 lines of imports and then complain that they’re tired when there are good players on the bench. There is definitely no reason to play an import defencemen up front while admitting you know he won’t score and having 2 local forwards sat on the bench. *Isaacs was great but he should have been in defence, where I hope he is next season* A little bit more pride and effort and this club could go a long way. It doesn’t even have to cost a lot of money!

Get rid of the freeloaders at the club, who are costing the club a small fortune for no return. Then simple..Speculate to accumulate as run correctly the club could make a tidy bit of money

I assume you are including games. What actually time is spent developing them as players. roughly 2-3 hours a week if they are lucky and play for more than one team. Thats the issue nothing like enough time spent on the ice. Look at it another way when these kids attend summer camps like Danny Stewarts BOB they take big steps forward in their development. Thats no coincidence that they spend more time on the ice and get better. Expand that to taking place week in week out (obviously slightly reduced due to school etc). How much time is spent making them into athletes first and hockey players second. having spent a summer in Czechoslovakia (showing my age) I saw what they did to develop their junior players and it was amazing to see. By the time these kids where reaching 16/17 they were on the radar of NHL teams. They were something else to watch training at full speed. What the biggest issue facing our young not enough time on the ice. In that time what is being worked on, is it speed, power, balance, offence, defence, skating, puck handling, passing, shooting, systems, strength and conditioning. You see where I am coming from, in limited icetime it very difficult to ensure all kids get the time required to have every chance to be the best they can be. I played years ago with a kid from Canada who was over for a holiday. He was lights years ahead off every player on the ice. He played for his school team his local team and was on a regional team. he was on the ice every day during the season. It showed as he was a hell of a player.

Brno came across to hockey UK about 25 years ago and wiped the floor with every single team, anything really changed in KIHC since then?

the main issues with junior development in this country is the kids from an early age are not taught strength and conditioning they are just taught to have fun, then when they get to under 14's upwards it's really only if yur face fits, but I believe if you look at Aalborg for instance there kids were fast, strong and had good ability but there core strength was putting our boys to shame we should be aiming to get the kids from 14-20 years old in a position where by they have all that and a good ability that can be enhanced through playing along side professional players. but this country still has beer league status

Once you get the 15 you can train with u-16's u-20's and kestrels if you are at that level. That's more than 6hrs a week. Then you have games at weekends and also national training once a month which includes off ice training and class work.

get rid of the existing two coaches. Hire a quality experienced player/coach (maybe as a reserve import to cover injuries suspensions etc.) Let him select his imports and work with all the junior coaches in KIHC on a regular basis with updates on promising young players. Initiate a lot of the ideas mentioned on other posts. That would be a start.
