Latest update from the Flyers. Lots of stuff covered including the enforcer role and type of team he wants. Two parts that are of a slight concern for me is that he confirmed that we don't have anyone signed yet and near the end he briefly mentioned that the owners wanted to cut the budget. Going to be a long summer but hopefully it will all be forgotten if we get a glut of signings in a couple of weeks.

Good honest interview from Dutes there, it's more of this honesty that we need to see and hear from the club. I agree with Fun Flyers comment about not having anyone signed up yet, Dutes did say last week that he was very close to signing 4 players, the fact that we are now a week on from that interview in the FFP and we still have no signatures is a little concerning. What's the hold up, especially with the 2 returning guys? Who I'm hoping to be Moyer and Brooks by the way. I'd probably also take Schaber back as well, but that's about it.

Good interview from Dutes I am beginning to think more that the ownership didn't want the Enforcer but Dutes has said that Nicker filled the building Gate receipts are everything for a better on ice product along with our sponsers,we didn't get Hutchy in early enough last season so more contacts for this seasons recruiting. Keep Calm don't panic we will get there

Dutes never wanted big Matt, Danny signed him up. Go watch the summer interviews from last year on what Todd thinks off Enforcers. Hopefully he now sees that having at least a few guys who can stand up to anyone is required to really compete in this league.
To admit that he hasn't kept up with the times in Hockey is an astonishing admission to make for me, not a huge surprise as it merely confirms what many have seen and spoken about on this forum.
Look at the other EIHL coaches who attended the world championships to go to seminars etc on coaching, you see just how out of touch or coaches/club are.
I have said it for the last few years that this waiting a month after the season to take a break before thinking about the next season is no longer how its done, other clubs coaches have been saying for at least the last 2 seasons that this job is a year round job now there is no off season for GM's or coaches.
With that all said it does sound like they are finally waking up if only a little bit on how the game has changed and their way of working simply doesn't fit anymore. I can only hope they do finally embrace the changes that are required. It certainly has been a long time coming!

Oh and since we are gate based club who need the crowds more than ever, just go and look at the Storms roster so far. Copy .... paste and watch the fans will turn up.
