Entertaining game last night at FIA. Kestrels played host to the John Dolan led Dundee Comets. In a pretty even match where the larger benched home side edged the 12 man Comets 4-3 with a game winning goal in the last couple of minutes of the game it could be argued that they stole the win from the jaws of defeat. In goal for Kestrels in the first half of the game was Craig Douglas, he was unlucky to lose two goals the first due to a deflection and bad marking leaving the Dundee first line centre alone 10ft out from net with a good slapshot. Little was in goal for the second half and played really well only beaten once by Dolan who he later stopped superbly twice, once on a breakaway. I would say there was a crowd of around 300 for this game who were entertained very well for their entry money.

Did Cochrane and Smith feature for the Kestrels? Any other players catch your eye?

Yes both were playing with Cochrane on the score sheet with 1 goal, Chad looks good but both have a bit to go to be at ELITE level obviously. Robin Floyd done well and a lad called Todd caught my eye throwing a couple of good hits and looking to have the type of positional awareness and two way responsibility about him required for the EIHL. Junior Bean still looks like he has the skills but really needs to look busier and add some speed to his game to step up.
Inglis featured in the Comets side but looked mediocre.

Worst analysis I've ever seen

Only my opinion, perhaps you could point out where I am mistaken then.

Worst analysis I've ever seen I love when people come on here, slate someone's opinion yet have zero opinion of their own to offer Todd is one of the top 3 worst players in the Kestrels line-up, shows zero offensive capabilities and has no D-Zone awareness or transitional heads-up play. To say he has the positional awareness to compete at EIHL is literally the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen, should be playing rec, not SNL. Bean is far gone, he's either extremely lazy or lacks the fitness to be able to skate above 50% for even 5 seconds in a shift, adding 'speed' is not the issue, you cant just 'add speed', people either have it or they don't when they don't try to improve it. There are players on the third line that far outshone any other player on the team, including and especially Smith. If you don't watch that game and think 'wow, they're not even close to EIHL' then you do not know hockey.

Perhaps fflyers you did not understand my observation of Beans output as I say exactly what you do except worded differently, on Todd that is the first game I have seen him in and he did what I saw and remarked on with the limited shifts he had, I understand he is probably a 4th liner at the moment and under the radar but he didn't under perform when he was on, being a first liner in the Kestrels does not mean you will be a good player in the EIHL ....it's a different game altogether. On the subject of knowing the game, having watched the sport for nearly 40 years and been involved on the ice I would say I have a fairly good idea and understanding of a sport I love but perhaps I am more kind to peoples feelings than yourself. Would you have a relative involved with the Kestrels by any chance?
