Anyone else rather enjoying watching the Flyers on the PK this year? They certainly appear to have opted for the best form of defence being attack. It's been great all season, but last night, they were unreal, wave after wave of attack...whilst being a man down...and not just coming forward, but intelligent play, bring the puck to the blue line, if alone, gently fire it in, if there are 2 of you, just play with the defence a little before getting a shot away. The 4 minute penalty kill against Clan was unreal, 4 solid shots on goal, and just kept possession of the puck. We've generally had a decent PK, but this year is right up there for me. Great stuff to watch.

Like you said, we've generally had a pretty good PK but it's different gravy this year! Pretty sure it was the start of the third period (maybe the second) we had so much possession of the puck that I actually forgot that we were a man down!

Yup, that was the 4 minute kill, we totally dominated it, kept possession, took the monkeys, and I'm sure we had 4 real solid shots on the breakaway, Clan were utterly bewildered by it. The speed we break out with is something else on the PK, the minute 1 of the guys gets the puck, they just break, and once the shot away, they just go straight back into their shape for the kill, we will score some amount of SH goals this year

I text a friend info on Sundays game and stated the Flyers were giving Clan a skating lesson, in my opinion this years squad is the poorest Clan have iced whilst Fife have found speedy skilled skaters who at times exposed the West Coast side very easily (over 40 shots in the first two periods) there must be changes soon at The Shops.

Yep - John Lewis has been replaced by Primark!

Great to see the Flyers PK doing so well this season so far........but for the best ever PK unit that I ever saw, does anyone remember when Ayr killed a 5 on 3 against the Flyers in KDY years ago? They kept the puck for almost the full 2 mins with Len Hachborn, Kevin Levalee and Chris Norton skating absolute rings round us, it was frustrating at the time, but an absolute pleasure to watch.

Bernie McCrone rumour has it told Kevin LaVallee not to fire slap shots at him during practices ......he had a cannon for a shot.
Speaking of Ayr Bruins I can mind a game against Fife at the old Ayr Rink in Limekilns Road, Tommy Searle (Bruins D man) was having constant arguments with the referee (George Nicholson) and as he sat on the boards avoiding players Tommy fired a slapshot at him from the other side of the rink with pinpoint accuracy and knocked him clean off, dangerous but seemed comical at the time.

Moray Hanson told me lavallee had The hardest shot he’d ever faced and had the bruises to prove it. Him and hachborn were some pairing

Aaaahhhh Bernie Mcrone, my favourite goalie, he was great.
