By now we all know how good this team is and how it never gives up or knows when it is beat We have had an excellent season so far with stellar wins in Nottingham and Cardiff. We have beaten Coventry six times in a row, a team we generally have problems with and now we have beaten Sheffield for the second time this season and we are beginning to be mentioned in polls for the league title I am sure this isn't even being thought about by Dutiaume but he has got us into an amazing position and I am sure he and the players will see things like this and start to believe it and that changes things Expectations will have changed by us fans but personally I don't think we are contenders for the title, I don't think we have enough depth for that We also haven't had any serious long term injuries to contend with and apart from one bad weekend we have an amazing net minder with a more than capable back up At the moment we have the best win percentage in the country over all games and surprisingly one of the best PPs in the league
So over to you guys. I know it's not quite Christmas yet but what do you think this team can give us? Is it still too soon for a thread like this?

I think we can win the conference it's ours to lose on current form, as for the league and cc and playoffs, anything is possible Dundee finished 2nd when they won the conference no reason we can't either as I think this team is better than that Dundee side if we stay healthy and focussed on the job each night we can win more than one trophy this team doesn't know when it's beat

It is nice to dream at this time of the season and this squad of players have given us that. Well done. Guildford are a bogey to us and this makes this weekend a big one. A defeat doesn't stop the dream though. I think our defence can be creaky at times and are saved by our very good goalie. How do we always seem to get a good goalie? Should win the Conference at least . That would be the first step. Who knows what could happen after that. Lets keep the dream alive as long as possible for us to enjoy.

Best finish in the EIHL, can't see past that. We rely way to heavily on our imports. Any injuries and we could really struggle.
Giving the ice time 13/14 guys are dealing with I would imagine that the long season will take its toll as we head into February/March.
Hope they keep it going as long as possible.

Best Fife team so far in the EIHL by a country mile, they play for each other and have a never say die attitude that has seen some great results recorded. We are a match for any team in this league on any given night and have a good chance of winning something this season.
Hopefully we can go on to win the Conference for the first time, we need to see what the December version of Braehead is like before we get to excited. We might have an outside tilt at the league if we can dominate our conference games, that would be great.
As for the cup and hopefully the play offs who knows, anything can happen in one of games.

We can win the league.
Not saying we will but it’s there for the taking- words I didn’t think I’d ever type. We have close to 20 conference games to play against 3 of the weaker sides in the league.
I think we need luck with injuries and also to bring in a spare import.
All the silverware is up for grabs as we have a team who can win in any given night and not just the occasional fluke.

I think we need luck with injuries and also to bring in a spare import. This is the key. We've not had (m)any long term injuries so far but guess will start to get injured the amount of ice time they are logging. I feel we need a spare forward to give us a wee bit more depth. Isaacs can drop to D if need-be which is why I suggest a forward.

We the fans can help this team to success by increasing our support, more fans more gate money more chance of a spare import to get us over the finish line.

We rely way to heavily on our imports. A strange comment. The league is over 57% imports according to Elite Prospects. So what team (in any season) hasn't been reliant on it's imports? I'm happy for Fife. Over the years I have repeatedly said on this forum (and the last one lol) that Fife should be doing better than they always did and it's nice to be finally proven right. Long overdue mind you, but still better late than never. Edit:- Not going to say Fife are my favourite other team, but for me it's a case of I would like to see anyone who isn't in the Erdhardt conference win the league (except Coventry because they've won it before).

You’ve got to love the attitude of this team, by far the best we have had especially attitude and togetherness wise. I think the fans that have been going forever like most on this forum, including me are now pretty happy with this team, I certainly think there are still improvements that could be made but I now understand that I think the coaches don’t want to disturb the moral in the room, fact is this team can win the league, if they win 15/18 (sure it’s 18) remaining conference games we are in with a shout. I think it’s probably a jump too far but we are half way through and in a title race whichever way you look at it, the problem is now off the ice though, we now know a winning team doesn’t bring in the crowds, and whether we like it or not, hits and fights do. In answer to the thread question, this team can win the league and the conference, that’s where it can take us.

I only ever wanted to see competitive, entertaining hockey and more than happy to finally get that, silverware will be a great bonus. They look like they are capable of going all the way but the league is an endurance test and we would need a bit of luck against teams that can carry spares. I think they will take the conference though and have a cracking chance at the play off finals if they make it to Nottingham.
I think it's too soon to say a winning team doesn't bring in the crowds, it took years to wear people like me down and it will take time for folk to go back. I went from season ticket holder to one game in each of the last 2 seasons, my Son just didn't want to go because it was 'boring'. We have been to a few games this season. After being away for a bit the hockey has been fantastic but it feels like quite an expensive night to be tortured by the so called DJ.

Its not a strange comment at all we play basically our imports and give Wands and Muir odd shifts and thats it we don't have a single Brit that plays on a regular line night in night out. No other club plays with so few Brits logging decent ice time. Want me to put it another way, we lack Depth. We cycle with 4 import defencemen and use Wands and Muir but again never as a core of 6 who all play in rotation. We persist in using an import defenceman as a forward rather than using one of our Brit forwards at all. Our misuse of our local guys is something long talked about across the fanbase.

Apart from the fact there are no strong Brits in the team the situation is odd with James Isaacs however given his commitment I think that would be balanced with a spare import forward for the run - in to the finals weekend, the requirements are there imo.

As I mentioned earlier we've more chance of a spare import if the fans of old start returning to support the best Flyers Team we've had in the eihl.
