As I’ve been on the Raith fan talk forum the last couple of weeks trying to drum up some support for the Flyers with brief summaries of the games, someone asked if I would copy and paste a review of Raith most recent game. As I’ve been pestering them it seemed only fair 😂 So here goes “Meanwhile at a near capacity New Bayview Park on Tuesday East Fife entertained a Raith Rovers. A fraught though entertaining 90 mins saw Raith take the lead twice only to be pegged back by a gutsy Methil side unwilling to go down without a fight. Raith still without 4 first choice first team players again gave a starting slot to young centre half Dave McKay along with former apprentices Vaughan and Matthews with the Raith bench boasting 5 young apprentices. Despite being short on numbers due to long term absentees Raith ran out worthy 3-2 winners in front of around one thousand travelling fans who sold out the away end.
The result means that Raith stay in second place 2 points behind Ayr United on 44 points. Raith host bottom club Forfar on Saturday at Starks and will be hoping that a victory there will keep the pressure on the league leaders who come visiting Saturday week.”
Hopefully we can get some Raith fans to try the Flyers and vice versa for the better of both sides.

I enjoyed reading that wee summary. Just a copy and paste I did in the hope we could maybe have fans visiting each other’s forum and maybe get some to try each other’s sports if they hadn’t before. But if I’m being honest my attempts on Raiths forum haven’t exactly been welcomed with open arms🙈.

I did notice a few years back flyers tried the if you have a season ticket for the footie you could get in half price at the flyers and visa versa but it never really took off I think it was only Dunfermline that took them up on it

I only remember seeing Dunfermline implement it but I could be wrong Cowdenbeath and east fife may have too but Raith certainly didn’t want anything to do with it. In raiths defence (I think) they were still recovering financially from a couple of years in the old second division and anything that could have cost them money would have been a huge gamble. Also Flyers may have been seen more as competition for customers where the other three are a bit further away and would see flyers as much of a direct competitor.
