Do you just like having a go with no knowledge at all. Long leaves Storm for a bigger club and more money. It happens in every sport.. the best players tend to end up at the bigger clubs. I'm sure McKenzie and Buesa will be happy to know you don't rate them as better Brits.

Did I mention buesa and mackenzie no i never, both of those lads have been a breathe or fresh air in what has been mediocre brits for years, because we refuse to do things right development wise.

I have to stick up for Chasing the puck here, we spoke to one of Fife's coaches at Guildford who told us that it's impossible to get high end Brits at Kirkcaldy because their ambitions are greater than the clubs and he was talking about Johnathan Boxhill as they had tried to sign him last season only to be told NO he wanted to go to a club that can actually win things. Ps, Chasing the Pucks junior development skills will be an a par with TD's 0% at least.

But that the thing...we are a small time club, in a league were the big teams will always get the best british players, we can't compete financially with them, we have a budget we stick to. Does that makes us inept, or would Colorado Flyer want us to go the same way as Milton Keynes..teams like us Dundee and Manchester (watch forum go into overdrive about them soon) will never retain the top players.

I just feel not enough is done to progress the kids we have, the junior teams are good some are the best in Britain most win there league almost every year, then they get the snl level and may be 3 or 4 get a 2 way with flyers and then they sit on bench or get may be 1 shift in every 4th or 5th game.
I spoke to Thommo when he coached Aalborg and ibaskwd him why those kids he brought looked so much better than Brit kids, he told me that from young age they are taught all the health stuff and that jazz so by the time they are 18-20 they have a really good core, they are physically fit and mentally strong enough to play top level hockey and they are playing in the top league in there country, they also try get there skating ability up to and then they can do stick skill away from from the rink.
We simply don't do that do We, don't invest enough time and energy in making our big enough, strong enough and ready to play elite hockey by the time they are at snl level

That is a kick in the balls signing. Beggars belief and entrenches the lack of commitment to Brit talent- he could easily have been a permanent fixture for a long number of years, still lots to learn but the ice time he had last season accelerated some of that. Feels same old same old already. Depressing. He was made an offer and a decent one, however Fife won't get in a bidding war with a team they can't match financially. My money would be on Sullivan coming the other way Hope you didn't actually put money on Zach Sullivan signing for Flyers.....😂 manchesterstorm.com/storm-sign-zach-sullivan/

I’m no so sure on not being able to compete financially, I’m sure someone will know better but let’s face it, the flyers rink costs will be a very small fraction of what the big boys are, I’m not saying we can sign 3 lines of quality imports and 5 GB players but I don’t think we will be as far away as what some think (based on no knowledge at all, just a guess). A couple of years ago Dundee Stars needed 800 people at every home game to break even. We get at least double that. What I’m getting at is I’m pretty sure we are not stretching ourselves to the limit and neither we should be but if we really wanted to sign a couple full time better brits I’m sure we could... or here’s a bizarre idea... PLAY SMITH, COCHRANE, ROBERTSON AND BUESA MORE!!! if they turn out not to be upto it then so be it.
