Good luck to Toms, good to see him back in the EIHL! Not being bitter as I'm personally glad we never kept any of our imports from last season, but Toms signing stinks of desperation. If I was a clan fan I would properly prefer to see Bakrlik as he's a bigger body and offers more to the team and style of hockey they play. When we signed him last season it was down to desperation and lack of quality available to sign at the time of season. Toms is a great skater but doesn't offer much in terms of assists, as for goals he seemed to always go to the back hand which made it very predictable. Still, all the very best to an ex Flyer even though he has signed for that lot haha ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

Tom's is a hard worker and good skater. Didn't contribute as much offensively for us as I though/hoped he would but that could have possibly been down to the team last season as much as him.

Hartmanis is a good pick up I would say?

I think he's exactly the type of player Braehead need with their quick transition. He's put up decent numbers everywhere he's played and should do well on an offensive minded team.

Epic on the PK. A wee bit gutted we can't stretch the budget for 2 and half months to pick up an extra import.

I too would have liked Toms back at Fife but not at the expense of what we have. He is an excellent skater but will probably only be a bit part player to add secondary scoring but then that may suit him as he was expected to be a main contributor with us last season, he won't be expected to do that with Clan
Would Hartmanis put up as many points as Chaumont has for us in this team? Yes they are different kind of players but if we are going with 10 imports and if Hartmanis was available when Chaumont was, that would have a choice if we wanted Hartmanis back but it doesn't look like Todd and Danny looked at having him back
When he signed for us last year it came across as a desperate, cheap signing that Danny knew about and was available and to give us an extra body
It is coming across somewhat that way for Clan too IMO. It doesn't just sit exactly right.
He will do well within this conference because there isn't a lot of physicality in it but up against the teams from the other conference when it does get physical he tended to go missing. So what are the extent of Clans ambitions with this signing? Its not exactly a huge statement

Its not exactly a huge statement Harlan old bean, there isnae a lot of quality oot there at this time of year, Hartmanis adds good depth to Clan, plays their style and will do a job for them. With Galbraith, and two to three others still to com in I think the season may just end the way I expected it to for Clan - improvement on last year :-)

If I had 11 import slots available and played the way they do in America with 2 scoring lines and 2 checking lines (1 in this country) I would give him a spot on the 3rd line. He is a very good defensive player and is excellent on the PK but for me didn't have it offensively. He didnt have a slapshot, puck handling for me was overrated he was nowhere near as good as Casey on the puck for instance. As I said I would have him on a 3rd checking line with two more physical players like Hamish and a Centre possibly Stewie.
He was poor on the PP as well but his work ethic and skating is fantastic. I think he will give the clan something they dont have at the minute and do well for them.
I would play him with Brock and Walker/Watt once everyone is back fit for the clan.
