Its pretty simple for me, nobody can name a local British player who has left the club and continuously went on to play in the league. Maybe start asking why Dutes doesnt give them ice time. There are clearly opportunities for british players at this club, IF they are good enough. Look at Sam Jones who walked in from nowhere and is in our top 4 defenceman. Because none have been developed by the Flyers. More guys 17/18 years old move away because they all see no chance at flyers. Brits come to the flyers and stagnate or retire. Jordan Marr left due to poor icetime he was easily capable of playing at this level.

Even when we signed John dolan we never got to see the best of him because he was played on a checking line yet when he was at Dundee he was on a scoring line

Flyers missed a trick all those years ago when they were invited to join the superleague as it was then as we had the brits who could have competed every night the Kings robbo haigy smithy Sammy and then you would have had a conveyor system off brits coming through every season and ready for the step up to the big boys league Hhhmmmm think you’re over playing how good some off those guys were, Davie Smith played in the ISL for Manchester for a year clocking 2 goals for 8 points.

I think a lot of fans live in the past when import numbers were half what they are now and the quality a lot lower...times have changed, fans mentality hasn't, no Fife junior has been snapped up and made a success in the elite..."the conveyer" just doesn't exist anymore.

Superleague was as it is now import wise if not more and I was only meaning those guys back then plus the imports we had would have been competitive and it would have helped encourage the brits coming through

You dont get it do you, flyer are not producing any to snap up, other clubs do. Caps for all they did brought through young players, Clan have done and still are. Stars didnt for a long time but have the last few seasons. wonder what changed there!! Player development doesnt exist in fife beyond KIHC. If it did our director of player development for the last 4 seasons would have brought something to the table. Where is the off ice programme for our guys, the skill development work. The work from Dutes right through KIHC to produce players that have a chance to step up. The reality is they dont do anything, Scott Jamison young lad with a chance to make it. how has his development progressed in the last 4 months. played in pre season rode the bench or hasn't dressed. Young players are leaving this club there has to be a reason other than you projecting they are all "just not good enough" cause here is the kicker the only way they get good enough is by playing the game. Riding the pine for 2 or 3 seasons isnt going to make them a better player is it. Chad wore a A for GB u20's last season in a team with very good players you cant tell me he goes from that to being just not good enough to even get a shift in Fife. Hope the guy has great success at the Clan. "we are a local club for local players" Dutes should be hanging his head in shame for the part he has played in the demise of flyers "local" players representing this club.

Thing is, another slot opens up for a Brit next season as the import numbers are getting cut. There will be a dog fight to sign up the best Brits, Jones who I rate highly comes into that category and will be snapped up by one of the top 4.

Reports I've seen o twitter saying Chad played with the fourth line, Fitz rolled them for two periods until he was chasing the game in the third p. More shifts with the clan than he's had in fife this year. But he's not good enough is he... What a joke of hockey club fife are.

Great result tonight though eh Methinks the jokes on you surely? How?? one win doesn't make a season or season's where brit guys have sat on their ass. All this has done is save the coaches for another few weeks!!

How?? one win doesn't make a season or season's where brit guys have sat on their ass. All this has done is save the coaches for another few weeks!! They have 9 wins Buesa McKenzie and Jones are brits (deemed by coaches to be reliable and of a decent standard) In an ideal scenario they would play more brits who are a lower standard and try to bring them on but his decision is that its too risky at the moment given the highly competitive league that we're in. Im sure Smith and Jamieson would have been made fully aware of the situation and have probably benefitted from training with squad. A move away from Flyers to a NIHL team would seem the best path for them. Unfortunately thats a big decision for them to make but they unlikeky going to progress to the elite level by playing for Kestrels. Its the coaches decision not ours. Its fair enough aiming genuine criticism at coaches when its meritted but without comparative budget data and potential diffuculty recruiting import targets to come to Fife I think the criticism is not justified. Imo

Great result tonight though eh Methinks the jokes on you surely? Jokes on who? Are you trying to say that Chad leaving had a part to play in flyers beating the giants??? Flyers sign good imports who every season pull off terrific results. Every season they can’t sustain any good play due to only playing imports the majority of every game. Rinse and repeat.
