I didn't think Todd had that in him in his post game interview but although he is careful with his words it's not difficult to work out.
We did get the poor end of some shocking refereeing decisions. It wasnt so much what they called but what they didn't.
So are refs frightened of the big teams? Do the arena teams with their hold over the running of the league have too much sway? Is it right that organisations in the same league have the same owners?
There is some sympathy with TD point already this season. Player throws goal peg angrily into the crowd - DOPS dolls out a couple of games suspension. Hutchy kicks a plastic bottle in frustration - 7 game ban.
Have we collected the most game bans this season? One for Rossco and the other stattos.
Last season was a howler from the EIHL. I was sure they would at least try to hide the disdain for the Flyers or am I needing to take my flying goggles off? Are we biting too hard on what really is fair?

Honest answer no speak to pretty much any team and they will give examples how things didnt go their way on calls or how they have been unfairly treated.
DOPS well they have been awful in some decisions for years now.

It's clear over the seasons the Flyers are dealt with hard Example last season DOPS review on Bulmer,Goats recent two game suspension The hit on Schaber last season, the Steelers player got very litt!e The Manchester game last season, the Manchester Captain hitting the Flyers Fan Only 3 game ban The Nickerson seasons you can go on and on Pelech will get nothing for last night or at most a one game ban or the refs call on night was right punishment Because Todd has spoken out that will not go unpunished Copeland watched Mike Cazzola take a high stick to face last night and kept the whistle in his pocket Very poor officiating last night worst we have seen all season Oh and Bulmers kneeing incident was a career ender for Conelley now top points scorer

Every team in Scotland is getting the raw end of the stick in terms of refereeing this season. Guys like Toby Craig, Elliot (horrendous skater), Halas, Dalton, Smith are a joke and should be binned for the danish guys. They are an embarrassment to officials and they wonder why players abuse them

My concern is consistancy, last night there was no call on the elbow by Pelech, no hands were raised by the stripeys at the time of the incident it was only announced after the altercation happened, perhaps one or both of the linos brought it to attention and the correct call given ..... scary when the ref had an uninterrupted view of the original incident from a few feet. If DOPS are consistent Pelech should get a two game ban at least today considering that's what Gauthier got (in record time) after review from the Dundee game with no call on the play.

The overall standard of refereeing is pretty poor in Scotland and the linesmen aren’t much better. The only thing is without them we have no game.

As has been said my gripe has always been the lack of consistency in calls/bans handed out, and that is a source of inequality around the league (not just in terms of us). Others have given examples of Fife being given worse bans for first offences than repeat offenders from the likes of Manchester (and other teams) who appear to get let off lightly. Prime example for me being the post game rammy last season. Ended stoflet's career, but he got more games for defending himself, than another who took part in restraining a player so he could be hit without defending himself. Same as the water bottle/goal peg difference - one an unfortunate consequence of frustration, the other a deliberate act in anger, but the bans would appear to have been given the wrong way round.
Also the lack of incidents being called at the time, despite it happening right in front of officials. The annoying thing in a lot of these cases is that potentially dangerous play goes un penalised, but we are then getting penalties for players sticking up for each other. Had the original call been made correctly, players wouldn't need to take it into their own hands.
Need to move to a scenario where officials are held more to account for their decisions (or lack thereof) as part of the DOPS process - some of their decisions have a significant impact on player safety, so why is this not also considered? Definitely think bringing in new faces from other leagues is a good move and will hopefully start to see an increase in the standard we're used to. I'm sure folk elsewhere would be gobsmacked at the standard that's acceptable here. Says it all when some officials wouldn't be allowed near a game down south - can you just imagine the fallout if Toby or pavel were officiating the playoffs 😂

Sorry no I don't think we are the officiating has always been pretty bad since I've been going to the fia the only really decent referee in all the time I've been going used to be Alex mcwilliam and that is going back a bit. The thing that really annoys me more is that the fact that no-one steps up to the plate to make the player making the cheap shot accountable OK gutwald did with the cross check to head but that is a rare instance of it happening

The other guy..not Copeland had his hand up for the Pelech elbow. Copeland who had an uninterrupted view never..Copeland done us over in Cardiff a few weeks ago, and last night with 2 soft penalties giving Belfast the breakthrough they were looking for...I would like to know what level he officiated at over in Canada and if that justified getting a referees spot immediately over here, believe it was the Cardiff owners who arranged it.

Copeland is one of those frustrating refs who dish out soft penalties yet choose to ignore the more serious stuff. He gave 2 very soft slashing penalties, 1 to each team, yet missed the check to the head of Crowder along with two blatant cross checking penalties, one of which the whole Flyers bench were banging their sticks on the boards in frustration. Then there was the incident when Cazzola was in a race for the puck with a Giants player, the puck was near the boards behind the goal line, the players mentioned were at least 5 metres from the puck with the Giants player in front of Cazzola and clearly going to get to the puck first but then decides to throw an outstretched hand into the face of Cazzola, surely that is an interference penalty right there? I would like to think it’s poor refereeing as opposed to favouritism but who knows? As for DOPeS, there isn’t a shadow of doubt that we get the wrong end of the stick from them, the evidence is overwhelming.

Have we collected the most game bans this season? One for Rossco and the other stattos. Here's the Stats from this season, of course Hutchins can be added. Make of it what you want, there are none in there that were remotely contentious apart from the last one!! It's perhaps more damning those offences that are not listed below. However the smell goes way beyond the last few months, there has been a systemic handing of the broon end of the stick to Fife when it comes to their dealings with authority. All of which is just paranoid conjecture from the stands of course. Aye right! Team Player Offence Games Panthers Bulmer Carry Forward 1 Stars Kalns Check to Head 1 Panthers Bulmer Kneeing 2 Steelers Davies Misconduct 2 Flames Ferguson Slew Foot 1 Flyers Gauthier Slew Foot 1 Storm Ehrhardt Abuse of Official 2 Giants Forsberg Slew Foot 1 Devils Jardine Elbow 2 Storm Gagnon Various 5 Steelers Davies Various 6 Steelers Vallerand Punch to head 1 Steelers Deluca Check to Head 1 Devils Marjamaki Slew Foot 2 Devils Bentivoglio High Sticking 1 Flyers Gauthier Charging 2

That happens very rarely though we always seem to be hoping dops will do the right thing and we all know they won't instead of handing out our own justice on the night
