Trouble is most fans offering help are well meaning amateurs..it's the ones with qualifications and skills in certain areas that are needed to replace the embedded clique of "volunteers" that are empire building at the moment so they can feel important. I have 14 years experience as a Social Media Manager working for a global agency managing brands such as Nissan, Toyota, Lexus, Disney, MTV, DAZN and ESPN to name but a few yet my offers have been turned down because apparently there's no need to increase the SM team.

Were you volunteering your services? Yes and for no charge but I feel my face perhaps does not fit as others have previously mentioned. It's a sad time to be a Flyers fan that's for sure.

That is exactly the reason - you are not in anyone's favourites circles. Let's face it, the match night experience is garbage, the building is un-inviting (dirty, cold and don't even get me started on the toilets), the front office staff have the attitude of "why are you bothering me" and their attitudes are rotten, the club shop / merchandise looks cheap and is not cool to wear for a teenager (hence why only young and old folk seem to buy it), the social media is hilarious (sarcasm) and clearly run by amateurs who think their ideas work on today's fan base. Seriously, tell EVERYONE involved with the club at the end of the season - Thank You for all you have done, we are going to try moving in a new direction and advertise for ALL positions in the club whether paid or unpaid and I mean ALL positions. Get people in there, that are skilled in the fields required. If the directors don't want to do that, then the directors should really look to sell the club on to potential investors to take it forward.
Edited to add - if the directors don't want to sell, what would be needed to get the council onboard to make a new building for ice skating, curing, hockey in fife and for someone to start another club? asking for a friend.

We maybe don't need to increase it but we need to change some of it..we have one amazing guy who puts out all the quality stuff that everyone says is great and likes..then we have...the other guy.

When Premier Sports / Freesports play their intro to EIHL Teams with the music and you see that Flyers brand wings it makes you feel proud that you are part of something and then you look at league table and try to remember what it feels like to win a game pretty sad how things have turned out

The club needs a GM, and we need to pay him or her. That person then sorts out who does what and makes sure it does, properly and at the right times. Someone with personality who isn't there now who has no favourites. The role would/ might pay off itself in ticket, sponsorship etc (I know we already have someone doing sponsorship). The role would fit someone with hockey knowledge or perhaps someone coming out of education like Dundee do. One person, instead of trying to do lots of different things half baked with no coordination.

A team of willing volunteers is great, and can be an excellent resource if motivated, used and managed properly. But without guidance and someone overseeing it it's never going to be what it needs to be, and will end up being a case of he who shouts loudest wins (as it seems to be going on these comments). Carol does a good job with the sponsors/commercial side of things but she can't do everything

Tweet from ali
Flyers fans - I have the agreement of the directors to setup an overdue fans forum. Trying to get an idea of how many people would want to be there. It'll be midweek, start of Feb & free (of course but worth confirming).

Important fans ask serious questions and don't use it as a tool to just shout abuse but i'd assume it will just be pre prepared questions being asked. Just hope Muir and Wishart are prepared to tell us the truth and not what we want to hear just to sell a few more seats until the end of the season.
