Unsurprisingly there was a noticeable difference between the teams except for the middle period where someone who had never seen a game would be hard pushed to say Devils were the title chasing team. Dutaiume has stated ad nauseaum that he cannot get 60 minutes from this team. That's what happens when you are simply not good enough, you don't win many games by looking like world beaters for only 8 minutes.
6 left at home, 11 on the road, they are done like dinner.
Jones had a decent return, Finucci's milestone but not really anything else to be positive about.
Tomorrow at Clan will all be about who has most desire.

Tim Crowder lost an edge at key points in the game , he needs to check his skates 2nd period was good though Morrison pulled off some great saves Toby blowing whistle in 3rd when puck was in play poor Two Crowders Just and Quaile simply not good enough at this level

Class told in the end. Devils played better hockey overall, passed out of defence when we mostly just flipped the puck out. The first period was 0-2 going on 0-7. Devils so far on top it was unreal. Flyers powerplay was sluggish and created little with nobody keen to park themselves in Bowns sight line. The second was much better from Flyers. Two close in goals in 2-1/2 minutes from Finucci and Cazzola got us right back in the game and Flyers made several decent chances. It was like night and day from the first. Cardiff stepped it up a gear in the third and eventually won comfortably. Flyers did a bit of huffing and puffing but never looked like having the quality to beat Devils. Good to see Jones back. Hopefully he won’t take long to get back to match fitness. Few had pass marks over the 60 minutes. Morrison had some decent stops, Cazzola put himself about as usual and Finucci played well in patches. This game demonstrated for me the gulf between Devils and Flyers, and showed why we are adrift at the bottom while they are challenging for the title.

Agree with most comments and the second period was great but Cardiff always had another gear in reserve tbh and where is our team toughness ? Morrison getting a few close calls with no back up ... its a sad team when nobody steps up and moves bodies in front of our most important player.

The proof in the pudding is that everybody would struggle to name 5 players they would want to return next year, the coaching MUST be changed, TD has had more than his fair shot of things only to go full circle in 9 years. Changes MUST be through the whole system, a GM has to be the order of the day followed by a new coach / players right down to the matchnight crew...... or the team will fold when the crowds go back to 300 or so and history repeats itself. The Directors have shown a lot of faith over the years and must be commended for their input but they must realise that these changes have to be made for the long term.

Heavy d said it in a previous thread, ToddNotMyFaultGuv is tams puppet, No proper coach would want the job, with tam interfering in the dressing room etc. So have as much fans forums meetings as you want.. nothing will change. So the fans will have to suck it up

I don't believe that to be the case but if things don't change we will not have to worry about it.
