I know some of you want to know this.
So we all know about the current winless in 14 run (if not where have you been)- we probably know that this equals the previous worst in the EIHL which was 14 winless in 2011-12
The 2011-12 run could however be considered better than the current as during that time we gained three points from two shoot out losses and an OT loss - our current streak has only yielded 1 point.
In the current streak in 7 Home and 7 Away we have goals record of F25 A 57 in 2011-12 it was 6 Home and 8 Away with F29 and A 80 - knock yourself out working out if one is worse than the other.
Where do we go from here - (the answer is not down the lake - for those of a particular vintage) - what happens if we lose next Saturday and beyond ?
So next Saturday would create an EIHL record of 15 without a win.
There are a couple of streaks that are there to be "broken"
Season 1947/48 we went 17 without a win - before OT however there were 6 draws in there - from 8 Home and 9 Away we scored 71 and conceded 114 - the run started with a 5-3 loss to the Glasgow Bruins on 23rd October at Kirkcaldy and ended with a 7-5 win over the Ayr Raiders on 18th December at FIA - indeed an early Christmas present.
That's the longest without a win.
The next longest is 15 straight defeats which occurred in season 1950/51
Starting on 21st February with a 7-2 loss at Paisley it ended on 5th April with a 3-2 win over Falkirk in Kirkcaldy. From 7 Home and 8 Away games the Flyers scored 59 and conceded 102.
There you have it, sleep well.
