Ok, with covid throwing a spanner in the works and a potential later start to the season forecast, surely we should be doing the same as some other teams and recruiting people into playing and off-ice positions to be ready for any possible start date?
Keeping the fans interested is paramount in this gate based business and surely doing what we done a few years back, where we announced everyone lead to a great season and packed building!!!
Just my opinion - discuss!
Also, why are we not showing classic games on youtube like other teams, or doing weekly catch up's with some of the guys...even if we sign a guy and do something with them??

Was thinking they'd been doing well at the start of lockdown but they've definitely lost steam with it. Not seen anything for a while.
Would have been a good time to discuss all the offers of help they had too, with a view to having a group of folk ready to go or filling in the gaps. I'm assuming they haven't been in touch with anyone?
Who knows what's going on, same old same old by the looks of it. There's no excuse really when they were innundated with offers of help following the Q&A.
The crowdfunder thing hasn't gone any further but will try again once we're moving towards a new season (whenever that will be). If the club won't get on board by then, I'll top it up enough to sponsor something and shut it down, cause there's no point without backing. So far raised £160.
Hope everyone is keeping well, and not climbing the walls too much!

I'd rather a clear statement from the EIHL first on how the plan to handle it. A Magic 5 weekend in Nottingham is all we have so far and that soridol event is surely a casebook don't do at that time. Once it's clear what teams are aiming at then I'd happily hear how recruitment is going and in hand with that then the off ice stuff like ticket sales would also be expected.

The problem is how can we have hockey in buildings if we are to social distance ( if those measures are still in force ).
And you can't have hockey with no fans, but I guess everything is up in the air at the moment.
Worst thing of all is th4 only time the club gives a hoot is when money for them is involved,

I would not worry too much about social distancing if the numbers at the "end" of last season are anything to go by

I can’t see the season happening at all, clubs can’t afford to go with behind closed doors or a heavily reduced crowd. Unless there’s a vaccine in place I’d be very surprised to see a 20/21 season

Unless there’s a vaccine in place I’d be very surprised to see a 20/21 season I agree, no crowds no hockey, financial suicide to contemplate signing a team to play in empty or sparsely occupied rinks.

As usual there has been little engagement with the fans. Even the Wallpaper Wednesday initiative seems to have run out of steam. No new posts on Facebook for over a week. Appreciate that there isn’t much to report, but even an update on how the EIHL are preparing and Flyers tentative plans would keep interest while we have no hockey, possibly for the next year and a bit. Another wee grumble is the lack of updates as to when the Play off weekend ticket and hotel money would be refunded. I am aware that part of the problem lies squarely with Motorpoint Arena, but it is almost two months since the weekend should have taken place and Flyers fans are still waiting for their refund.
