I liked Cazzola last season but let’s face it he was standing out in a god awful team as someone who was putting the effort in, it’s a loss but he’s replaceable, good luck to him and thanks for his efforts last season in particular.

It's funny... folk, possibly including yourself, whinge and moan about the lack of professionalism from imports in Fife and here is a boy who shone out like a beacon in terms of his application and attitude. He toughed it out in Edinburgh too when others wouldn't. Shining in poor teams is actually more difficult than at good teams so why use that as a stick to beat him with? Did Gauthier, T. Crowder or the beloved Schaber shine last season on any kind of consistent basis? We know the answer and those were highly rated players in some peoples eyes. In case you hadnt noticed we've been rattling round the basement bucket for players these past 2 seasons. Cazzola fell into our lap by chance but he was a top 6 forward in any UK team. Flyers have had very few of these guys recently. If you think he's easily replaceable i'm looking forward to seeing it.

Dont think anyone has whinged or moaned, the facts are Cazzola was very decent in a c*** team. And he's not anywhere near a top 6 player for the big 4 clubs in the UK, only for the lesser teams maybe.

I agree with finch in that he was an excellent find. Considering he was given a more defensive role in his first season and played in a poor team last season, the. I think he did very well. I wish him well in the future and would gladly see him back one day.

You maybe need to read my post again as if you are telling me that people haven't whinged and moaned about the professionalism (or lack of) from Fife imports in recent years then you can't have been on the forum very long. Your 2nd comment though is your opinion (fair enough) but not a fact. I'd bet not many others who watch the British game would say Cazzola is 'not anywhere near' a top 6 forward at a top club. Many players (like Rutherford) have shone for poor teams and gone on to shine for bigger teams. Can't get my head around this 'decent in a c*** team' as if it downgrades the player. Lets see if we get anyone as good next season.

We'll have to agree to disagree then. I maintain Cazzola was very decent in a terrible team, he may also have been been very decent in a good team but we'll never know, if anything that's credit to Cazzola. Also pretty sure he would never be top 6 for Steelers, Panthers, Devils or Giants. The comparison with Rutherford doesnt hold up as he had a certain "style" which suited the Giants. I think the standard will be much lower next season, if it happens.

Cazzola has had an absolutely stellar career at College and Uni and scored 76 ECHL points in his only pro year in North America and also got an AHL call up. He's played in Edinburgh and Fife because it suited him from an educational standpoint. He could easily play a big role for one of the top teams.

Mike Cazzola was the stand-out player at Fife and the league in his time there......no question, without doubt he was out to graft every shift regardless of the score. He only moved across the Forth so he could continue his education after Caps demise despite having better offers elsewhere in the EIHL, he was a lionheart and had no fear of much bigger and tough guys in the league, he would have been the first on my list for a return no question.
