Not sure TD is to blame for the loss of potential brit talent. Last time I checked the hilariously titled "Head of Player Development" is hutchy. A position he has held since 2016, and literally not developed a single player. Unless developing players is code for restricting ice time and forcing them to join other teams. (Sam Jones is the only exception, and fife can take zero credit for his development) name me one brit thats came out of Fife thats been good enough to go on and play consistently in the elite league. Name one that’s had the right development to actually have the chance to go on and become a true EIHL player. I mean full time job is hockey and they are paid a sensible wage.

Don't know enough to offer an answer to that...other than it seems like the once super dominant kestrels have not won the SNL since 2016. Would it be true to say the last actually good jr prospect from the flyers was Steven King? (no offence to the likes of Kyle, Tommy etc, but Steven King was a different standard) I can’t say I agree with that. Kyle Horne was a British international so you cannot say he was not a fantastic junior prospect. Adam Walker had a good career Lee Mitchell was a good player coming through. John Haig Davie Smith there was a number of guys around the time of Steven King. We also had a hand to play in Murphy’s development so Fife had a great pool of talent coming through on a consistent basis. I agree with others since the collapse of the BNL and the transition down to SNL we have produced next to no one that has broken through. Plews has done well down in Swindon and will perhaps wish to play Elite in the future and Reece is an excellent prospect. But the dearth of talent is related to the collapse of the BNL and the difficulties making the transition to Elite. The EIHL is a high standard and you must be able to skate and compete with the physical demands of the league to make an impact. It’s not easy for Boys 16 or 17 to do that unless they have developed physically at an early age. Reece has plenty of talent so I look forward to seeing how he transitions to Elite Hockey this year and I hope he does great but at this point in time if we have signed swindlehurst that’s a major upgrade on Reece

I don’t think that would be fair to say. In my opinion both Kyle and Tommy commanded a regular eihl slot and although they didn’t put up numbers, they were immensely talented

Erik Naslund www.eliteprospects.com/player/20006/erik-naslundInteresting to see how he does coming from Sweden 3. Same league as Emmerdahl last year and outperformed him last year but less high level junior experience and only ever played in the 3rd Division in Sweden. Maybe just needs a break and hopefully a hidden gem for us.

I guess I was using Steven as the stand out - playing young on a top line, with top minutes and having being a repeat top 3 scorer on the team (with some outstanding imports) As much as Haigy and Smith were good, Steven appears at least on paper, to be better. It is a real shame that the powerhouse that was the kdy jr system appears to have died. I will be honest, I really like Buesa and Recce of late and its a shame to see them leave for the Clan. Murphy...not so sure, he played less than 50 regular season games for us. He played more for Dundee, Edinburgh and Manchester. We did give him his start tho - and he was FANTASTIC

Even Mo spoke about how good haigy was during his time as coach. Compared him to the top imports of the time. Take nothing away from Kingy by saying any of this.

I never really liked Steven that much at the time, was a much bigger fan of Haig and Smith...HOWEVER, if it was a choice. Solo King or Solo Haig. I would take Steven. Now, change the rules to say Haig AND Smith over Steven...then thats no brainer, loved watching that pair work.

It’s actually funny watching across social media apps as comments are getting deleted across Facebook Twitter etc so rather than just oops our mistake we meant Mike it’s taken someone to troll through and delete any criticism 😂😂

No idea who does Flyers Social Media and/or website needs to have a look at themselves and pass the job onto someone who can do a professional job. That goes for the app too. No announcement as to what is happening with it or what is wrong. A clearout behind the scenes has been needed for a few seasons now, but we still get amateur hour.

I also liked the when we sign players they will be announced no waiting on green lights comments from Dutes. Finally the right approach!
On a totally unrelated topic thought it was funny how in the videos released tonight both him and Ali are wearing exactly the same clothes as in last weeks videos.

I assume some tech-savy flyers fan with a BBCMicro and 56K dial up. The media is a joke at the flyers, and so easy to fix. Take, for example, the webcasts...some clueless local radio chap, more interested in talking about food than hockey and (what i often assume is) a half cut bean. Single fixed (non HD) camera, no replays, no team line up, no PP indicators, no intro, no half time entertainment/video/interviews. Now, imagine if we went to the college in kdy, and spoke to whatever media course they offer, and ask the kids if they want to try produce a live sports event..sure, they would make mistakes, but they would learn and have passion for the craft...rather than what we suffer tru just now.
