Should we expect 4 more signings tomorrow? Carter n Benson on their way back both absolutely miles off it in my opinion, not what’s needed at all

So there's 5 imports to sign. If 2 are Carter and Benson but other 2 forwards say magee and mcnicolas, I actually dint think it's too bad. My main worry is Carter looks like his body is past it bad back issues apparently which unless he's done work during summer cantcsee simply going away. Flyers do have bad habit of keeping boys who clearly are past their best ala Jackman, Aarsen.

I would think there will be 2 to 3 college kids coming in to balance the books, so cannot see all 4 you mention returning, I would defo prefer Mcnicholas and Magee to be the 2 rather than Carter and Benson, yes Carter got good hands but his work rate poor and like you say keeping injury free could be a problem, Benson to me has no speed, physicality, good hands or points production to be a top 6 forward.

What if its all 4 with one new face? Carter, Benson, Magee and McNicolas - a line with any of those 3 on it together would generate some points!

I dont get that at all to be honest. Carter is miles past it, i genuinely couldn’t go another season watching this guys work rate. Benson absolutely nowhere near good enough to be a top 6 forward, has good work rate but very limited speed, weak shot and poor hands. Surely we’d be better taking a punt elsewhere rather than enduring the same guff we put up last year? Bring back the good, part ways with the bad

For 95% of the season we were utter tripe that had 0 entertainment value. There cant be any sentiment to most of last years roster, i wouldnt have been fully against a complete rebuild.

I think if you can't see that magee and mcnicolas, arguably Chase with right attitude are decent forwards then that's fine. And on top of that flywrs just ain't going to bring in 8 import forwards of all that better calibre, arguably D Lawrence is only a slight upgrade on Stadnyk, and they have a history of sticking with likes of a Carter when they shouldn't so you can hope for better but history would tell us you will be disappointed. The best thing so far for me is our d is a lot more even and better standard, and it's not been like that for a number of seasons. But I accept that it looks like a bit of a compromise on forwards.

On top of all this I am impressed at the mere fact we have already signed the calibre of player we have. I think using Reece as the 6th d is a bit of a gamble, also not replacing Peacock but hopefully jamieson gets far more ice time. But in all this I'm remembering crowds are at an all time low, and cost of everything is at all time high, the cost of getting that rink going again will not be small either. So I'm just glad they seem to be at least trying to build a better product so far. A tough d man, and hopefully McNicolas my pick of the bunch, is probably as much as I can ask for.
