Don’t get the love for Pilon tbh I’d say he’s a an ok player. Would have hoped to upgrade on him over summer

Brilliant, as a former player from last year said to me when I said he was a bit of a nutter on the ice , he said yeah he’s sure a handful and sure is fun in the changing room. Sometimes you need players like that.

I really think we'll see him blossom as a player next season. He knows the set up now and what he can get away with. I'd love to see him him ruffle a few opposition feathers!

Am I correct in saying that’s 9 forwards now? Maybe 1/2 more to come in at best?

Am I correct in saying that’s 9 forwards now? Maybe 1/2 more to come in at best? 8 forwards signed, all imports. 2 more import forwards to be announced (Coolen has said he's gonna run with a spare import forward and D man to begin the season). Happy with the signing, it's some grit the forwards have been missing and someone who proved last year that they're willing to step up and defend the team when needed. We desperately need a Brit forward and D man who can each play regular shifts. Icing 14 skaters each night crippled us last year and we can't have it happen again.

Wouldnt mind bringing Pilon back if we had Brits that could see him play in a limited role but unfortunately it looks pretty nailed on for riding 14 skaters every game again. Need replacements for Lajeunesse and Osterbergs scoring because at the minute i dont see personally where that high end scoring is going to come from.

Need replacements for Lajeunesse and Osterbergs scoring because at the minute i dont see personally where that high end scoring is going to come from. Musorov and Gatiyatov would be my guesses for that point production. That Kazakh line already having chemistry from playing together combined with their impressive pedigree for their age is my reason for that. Add in Chiodos scoring from the 2nd half of last year once he got used to the league, Cichy's consistent production in Poland (consistent in producing points, not the level of points produced given the outlier 95 point season he had) and Martineau's last year in USports mirroring Laj, I think we have much deeper scoring depth in the team compared to last year. D is where my main concern is as that is where I feel we need upgraded the most. I'm also still hopeful that we'll have a Brit forward and D in the lineup to play regular minutes each night so we aren't rolling 14 skaters. Not confident, but hopeful.

Now would be the perfect time for a summer catch up with TC. I understand some of the fears folk have with our signings, it may be a master stroke with the Kazakhs, but equally they have to adapt to this league. The highlights from the Continental cup said that as a team Astana were not physical, and you can bet in the Elite league teams will target them to try and stop them. So far we have no size and only grit is Pilon, he can't do it on his own, so hoping we have a bit of size still to come up front and on d, just as TC said he needed this time last year. And the final piece is Brits, we desperately need at least one capable Brit to allow 3 full lines. TC is great in the catch up interviews and normally gives a clear path he's looking at so it would be good to hear with most of the team signed how the missing bits are shaping up.
