Too late for what? If we win tonight we're 4 points ahead of Caps and 1 of the Stars. If, as Danny says, we get Casey back for next weekend we're still in a good position to make the play-offs. They've been saying their hopeful of Casey being back next weekend for about the past 3 weeks. He could barely even skate this week, doesn't sound too promising him being back for at least 2 weeks. I was told it was a ligament issue, the club have said it's a broken foot. Whatever it is, it doesn't just heal and then the skates are on and business as usual. I overheard someone connected with the club say at Braehead he'd be out for a few weeks with a high ankle strain. Surely if it was a broken foot, he'd have had his foot in a boot? If the injury was still causing him real problems, i'm sure he wouldn't have been on the ice twice this week. So, have you written us off for making the play-offs then?

Tbh there as well not bothering now. Too late Too late for what? If we win tonight we're 4 points ahead of Caps and 1 of the Stars. The season has been spoilt for some of us, by the clubs actions

High ankle sprain is what I thought originally. Can keep you out long term but isn't a break - think Sidney Crosby missed time with one a few years ago.

We've got a long history of going in short and bringing guys in at the death. If frustrates me like everyone else, but it's nothing new with the Flyers.

Very true dirkster,
Can't believe you said that player results on the ice are all that matters if we play with 4 imps and win the league it wouldn't bother me. I mean Todd could say instead of signing imports, I'll sign a team full of Brits. As long as our results were good I don't see the problem.
We are only a year 2 franchise yes its frustrating but look at Winnipeg in the NHL will they make the playoffs this year probably not, they are a team with great history but they are only a 2nd year franchise.
Just be thankful we are competitive this year and we should make the playoffs. Could it be worse absolutely, could we be doing better yeah for sure and hopefully net season we will address more of the problems associated with the club.

Making the top 8 in a 10 team league isn't comparable to making the play-offs in the NHL.

I'm not saying it is Sparky my point is don't expect too much.
We have a mid level attendance and we have to build back up our property portfolio etc. I am frustrated that we have not made huge strides but I think we have made some and our goals at the start of the season was to make the playoffs so providing we achieve that we have completed our objective.
This is also the highest level the club has played at because it is a better standard than the BNL and we never played ISL.

Hang on Winnipeg are not a 2 year franchise might be only 2nd year in the peg but a longstanding team regardless. They were not an expansion team.

Neversaid they were an expansion franchise well aware of the Jets history. That is why I used them as an example because they are a franchise with a great history but are only in their 2nd year back in the big time a bit like ourselves.

I haven't checked the Jets roster but did they handicap themselves at the start of the season?

They took the entire roster from Atlanta. No comparison I'm afraid we choose to go in understrentgh not exactly something you see happening anywhere else is it.

Thats the problem with some people on here they don't expect too much and will settle for an average everything / we are a poor understrength team............. well Flyers are better than that and expectations should be as high as the Nottinghams of this league. Attitude is everything in sport, at the end of the day had Fife been on 11 imports from day 1 and won all those tight games they would be right up at the sharp end of the table.

Ronnie I agree we should be up there challenging but it will take a few years because we need to improve so many aspects of the business. Improvements have been made and over the next few years I think we will continue to improve both on and off-ice. For instance we need to get a major sponsor onboard we are one of very few teams which don't sell their naming rights. Why shouldn't we be called the Diageo Fife Flyers if it brings in another £50 000.
We are getting an 11th import it was tweeted yesterday and then we will see how we are doing, we can still win this conference and make the playoffs thereby, accomplishing all we wanted this season. I hope over the next few years the league expands in terms of team numbers and we can establish ourselves as one of the premier rink teams in the country.
