I agree Mark should be like the NHL where it depends on your conference position if you make the playoffs but all games should count towards the conference (just like the NHL) not just games against teams in your own division.

Fife win two home games and lose one away = 46 points after 52 games Edinburgh lose and win to Fife (going by the above comment) = 46 points after 50 games Hull win 3 games and lose one to Dundee = 47 points after 52 games (above Fife) Dundee after above win v Hull = 44 points after 48 games
Edinburgh have two games to get 1 point to be above us. Dundee have four games to get 3 points above us.
Thus two wins does not guarantee top 8 and play-offs.

What other place have you seen a last placed league team make a playoff based on a conference place .....they used to say only in America but on this occasion it could happen in the uk. If so whats the point of a league?

Thus two wins does not guarantee top 8 and play-offs. your above assumes that Hull beat Cardiff, Coventry and Sheffield pretty sure noone from the Gardiner is guaranteed a play-off berth as yet, i however believe two home wins in regulation time will be enough for us
