www.sheffieldsteelers.co.uk/steelers-appoint-dog-christiansen-p183092. This seems a bit of a sideways move for Christiansen. It's certainly an upgrade for Steelers IMO but that will be another team that will smother the life out of teams and not be attractive to watch Does he know something about the financial and long term security of the Giants that the rest of us don't and has jumped ship because of this?

I reckon things are about to get rocky at Belfast. Budget's will be cut and I won't be surprised to see them recruit a player/coach next season.
I wonder how Doug will cope at Sheffield without someone like Todd Kelman supporting him in the background?

Gb point of view, given that Steelers usually have a large Brit contingent in the GB squad, he will get a good look at some of them too. Agree that things seem to be set to get rocky in Belfast.

I now wonder with Doug going to Sheffield if the Casey Haines to Belfast and Krestanovich to Sheffield rumours will still have substance?

I think it's a good move actually. Steelers have been fairly solid financially of late, and they are hurting with Panthers on the up.
He'll get given a good wedge of cash, his interview talks about a huge budget, and I'd expect a few giants to cross the Irish Sea to be reunited with Doug.
He's the best coach I think in the EIHL, and at only 34, I wouldn't expect to see him take another role in the UK after Sheffield. Off back to the US I reckon.
But before he goes, he'll be given the funds to get the upper hand again over Panthers.
Over to Doug and the team to see if the can deliver.
Very interesting, as this lets players start to move too, expect some different looking teams in 2013/2014
