Ha ha ha, you guys better get worried as any easy ride you thought you had playing Clan has well and truly gone. A grittier in your face type of Clan is just what Clan need - so look out and keep yer heid's up ;-) Oh and all have a good summer you guys and let battles commence in September :-) I think all the teams will be stronger, which is great for the conference and the league. Will Clan's new home top have blue collars? ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) Load of rubbish this 'grittier'=better. Ask Coventry. Finnerty was a failure at Sheffield don't forget. Why should him coming make you automatically think that things will improve? Will Clan's fanbase really rather see toughness over flair? To be honest, Clan had the edge on us last season and it didn't bother me when you look at the comparative spending. It wouldn't bother me next season either if we continue to progress. Yep will ask Coventry who finished fourth and had a season their fans loved ! Next daft point Finchy ;-) Oh and if being right up the top end of the league against the bestbEIHL side ever is failure then I'm delighted we have such a 'failure'. Bring on the new season of in yer face Clan hockey :-)

You could also ask Sheffield if grittier=better. Steelers were supposed to be loaded with gritty players on the team with the supposed biggest budget in the league last season and where did that get them? We have seen time and time again at Kirkcaldy that speed and skill beat supposed grit. We will continue to see it. It may not really bother Flyers fans considering Clans compartitive spending but tell you something they seem to be really bothered by us Really harlan, which of your contacts told you that? ;-)

Who said would fans rather see grit than flair? Erm.... yes? Coventry had some of their best crowds ever last season and they were a tough side with barely a chance of winning the title like they used to.
Sheffield Steeldogs also saw a huge rise in their attendance numbers the season before last when they were physical as hell. Lost their way a bit this season and numbers have dropped again.
Think it's fairly unanimous that fans want physicality.

Braehead were the 3rd best team in Scotland last year I cant see them improving much with the 3rd placed coach from last year

Bring on the new season of in yer face Clan hockey :-) I really don't think Coventry were getting huge crowds compared to years gone by and the impression I got from reading their fans comments was that they weren't particularly enamoured with their team or Thommo's style as the season went on. You say they were 4th- big deal!! They didn't even remotely challenge the top 3. Look- we all like the physical stuff. The point I'm making is that extra 'grit' in itself isn't NECCESSARILY what's going to scare or improve teams. You want a mixture of that and the stuff that really wins games - players putting the puck in the net. So to summarise (and just so you properly understand Ronnie, what with you being a bit slow on the uptake at times), I don't think anyone is going to be wetting their pants with fear simply on the basis that a team becomes 'grittier'. It will depend on exactly the type of players that come in. As I said, Clan had the better of the head to heads with Flyers last season anyway (before they get 'grittier'). We did however have a good record against the Southern teams at home ;-) Clan fans have been used to seeing exciting attacking play. Perhaps they will like something different- who really knows? By the way, a much easier way to establish whether or not Finnerty was a success, would be to ask- did Sheffield ask him back this season? Lastly- you never did get back with your All Star picks! Same old Ronnie!

Loving it quite clearly a lot of Flyers fans on here are worried about Clan already.
Finnerty is a great fit for Clan as the team need that change in direction to in yer moosh, physical hockey.
Don't think I'm slow on the uptake having certainly forgotten more than you will ever know On UK hockey but don't let ye continuing to look a bit daft on yer own forum mon :-)
Predictions, probably got 90% of the All Stars right, same as every year :-)

If trying to educate you makes me look a dafty then that's a cross I'll need to bear ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Flyers fans are not remotely worried about Clan now or next season. Why do you even care about the Flyers?- your lot must spend more than double what we do!! You surely can't gauge anything on how you do against us?! All Stars? What do you mean you got them 90% 'right'?? The writers picks were awful!! They should let folk who know the game pick them and leave it at that!

Now you are showing how much you truly know. There is absolutley nothing for Flyers to be worried about with what happens with Clan. The fact that you feel it necessary to come on to a rivals forum to deliberately try and bait opposition fans with posts that have no argument and substance to them only show how worried you are about us, otherwise what would be your point in being here? Maybe Finnerty is a good fit for the Clan, I personally don't think he is as he has proved he can't keep hold of a dressing room and his tactics and type of player he likes come up short in big games and just as when he was a player it is too easy to get in to his head as a coach and he certainly isn't anywhere near as a good a coach as the one you finished the season with so certainly not an upgrade in that department You get what you wish for though

We shall see chaps, we shall see ;-) What exactly are the Clan's goal for this season Ronnie? Surely your not going to measure sucess against conference rivals with half your budget?
