Going back to the original post, can't see Nottingham and Belfast agreeing to only two fixtures between them per season. Whatever the official reasons for the devising of two conferences this season, a pleasant consequence for the Belfast, Panthers and Steelers axis of power is the increased number of marketable games between them. The financial interests of the larger Arena-based organisations will always dictate the terms of any future re-jigging of league structures. Personally, I'd like to see more teams join the Elite League fold and expand the Conferences out a little. But unless it's a new franchise with money to burn, I can't see the likes of Manchester, Guildford or Basingstoke stepping up and bankrolling 11-12 imports. Guildford can easily afford it. They don't even have sponsorship on their shirts in EPL at the moment

Maybe Tam Muir can persuade his pal at Guildford to make the jump?

Maybe Tam Muir can persuade his pal at Guildford to make the jump? Doubt it. Guildford do not want to join EIHL nor are they wanted in EIHL, particularly by Neil Black

Trouble with Guildford, is why?
They pretty much sell out their games anyway, and make a decent shed load of money. A lot of the player get better wages than they would in the EIHL, so I don't see a real incentive for Flames to move.

Guildford have 2 clear choices - big fish in small pond (EPL) or then small fish in big pond (EIHL)

Makes sense given that your friends usually have the same enemies of you. Strange enough in life, its more often than not that we find common grounds with others by finding a common enemy.
