Another 9-0 mauling for them next Sunday maybe??? Haha!!!
I do feel sorry for the guys already signed - they were only missing Les and Cingle tonight and I doubt they would of made much difference as still wouldn't of even given them 3 lines. They haven't got anybody else lined up either. Can see Les, portwood etc not lasting the season if things continue like this for them!

Portwood will. He's only there cause he's at uni anyway. He was coming to Edinburgh before he even signed for caps so he will stay

Bigger picture is that think we should all hope they get their act together sharpish and sign the rest of their team. They won't get many, sorry they will get even less through the gates if they don't, and that will eventually mean serious problems. EIHL needs all it's teams to be healthy. Can't see their better players hanging around very long either if it doesn't improve.

They are trying though - they pay peanuts for wages so not meny players want to sign for them. They might get a few now that season is starting with players who don't have a team yet and don't mind playing for a little less.

It was a sore one last night, alot of Caps fans are not happy on twitter.. I don't blame them people say it's pre season but Hull know going up to the Caps at the weekend they have them in there pocket.

We should be thankfull that our management - who get slated at times - at least are trying to get a competitive team on the ice. Edinburgh have always struggled to survive. Hopefully they are competitive by the end of September so that we have close games. A league is only as good as its worst team. Look at last season, they won at some big rinks.

Did they not have a better year than they have for a while last season, attendances were up, especially due to the local derbies. They seem to get decent sponsorship. I'd imagine a boy like Reaney is not on peanuts, he seems a decent hard nosed player that even some of the top teams in this league would be after. Perhaps it is simply timing, and some of the difficulties we have had with getting players to commit in time for season starting, visas etc. Fingers crossed for them.
I would hope that those in charge of the league, whoever they are, are offering support and are happy that a viable team will play out of Edinburgh this season.

Don't forget the Capitals were missing 4 imports, Reaney, Cingel, and the two still to be anounced. They also had a poor start last season yet managed to finish in 6th place the highest placed Scottish team.
We may have owned them last season but they still finished higher than us and took a few unexpected scalps. I for one am not counting my chickens yet.

They finished above us on regulation wins, we won more games and would have actually been 5th had the deciding factor been wins.

Caps have always struggled. If it wasn't for the additions of Fife, Dundee and Braehead, they most certainly would have joined Newcastle in the realm of non-existance by now. No EPL team would step-up.
