Now which team plays their home games at around 7pm on a Sat which will make it easier to televise and not move fixtures around?

I will be surprised if any Scottish games are covered live. Call me Mr Cynical ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

First, i'll just say I think the coverage is a great thing. When the Live games disappeared it was a shot in the arm I feel because I have had success in getting people into Ice Hockey through the TV. They didn't want to travel and pay money for something they were sceptical about, but they were far more open to watching a period on TV. As I am sure you will know, hockey is a game that you either do not like, or it grabs you and has you hooked as soon as you see it. I have had numerous methods of success, from mithering them to buy NHL for a games console to convincing them to watch it on TV. Every method available to me, and all fans, to introduce new people is good. This is even better because when GB games were on TV, I managed to get it on in the pub because thankfully there was no football. I could have watched it at home, but given I want to try and grow the game like I think all of us should, I purposely went to the pub with a couple of friends and given it was a Tuesday night with no football, it made sense for them to put it on. By the second period a few others who weren't there for it were watching it and asking questions. As to Fife games, I have never been to FIA so I can't comment specifically on Fife, but Manchester were very rarely on the replays of full games back in the day but whilst on the face of it, this is because we were not a 'big club', it was more than that. Because of the structure of our rink, getting decent footage was incredibly hard and it always turned out awful and looked very unprofessional. I know Coventry, Sheffield, Nottingham and Belfast do not have these problems. Whether Fife and others do I am not sure. One would hope they would try, but if the footage and quality of the broadcast turns out awful for a variety of reasons, then it is best to put what provides the best image on the screen, thinking from the point of view of that everyone who is already into the game will already be there, the TV is to reach a new audience and for people who are open about watching it on TV to see if they like it, but not enough to go to a game without getting a taste first.

A wise decision to cover distance games so far IMO, though could be coincidence. Don't really want derbies to be on TV as that may have negative effect on attendance, whereas I doubt more than 50 will make the trip from Cardiff to Braehead so TV is good idea for this game. www.premiersports.tv/ice-hockey/elite-league-ice-hockey/
