Excellent article just put out by the FFP. Said it in another thread of the role the paper can play if it wants to. This first step was spot on.
They have interests in the rink, They have a relationship with the owners and coach. The social media response already to the article shows the fans have been screaming for it.
Will it continue? Will it harness the frustration that must exist on all sides and help bring about a change whatever that is?
Feel the sting of the sweat Of the back of my neck It's been way too long Like a ricochet the FFP hit the stage Let's get it on - Are we back in the game?

It is a great article and spot on ...but I honestly don't think they have a great relationship due to the lack of information the press seems to have from the owners...but the club need called out on some things and the press has broke the mold and done it..

The article doesn't go far enough they should have asked why a coach with such a poor record still has a job is the team fragile or have they just stopped playing for a coach who the players have no faith in

And the article might just bring our Stint in the EIHL to a close It was close two seasons ago to being no Fife Flyers Must admit Hockey wise been a rotten December Season has been more down than up very inconsistent Team has beaten every team bar Sheffield this season We had similar was it season 3 when we went on that long run of wine all way to POFW Can't see this team doing it in current shape

Some pretty decent points made here even though it starts with a mistake by the third line. We have had two wins this month, at Dundee and Manchester but no surprise at FFP inaccuracies. Like Boschman 76 I don’t think the article went far enough. I would have liked to have read that the Ed or Sports Ed had spoken to the directors about the growing levels of unhappiness and declining attendance levels rather than believing that the directors will be aware. Maybe the FFP can use what influence it has at the rink to gather suggestions from the fans on how to improve the points that were rightly highlighted in the article and present them to the management with the hope that at the very least some communication between the club and its paying customers can be made.

Zamboni surely if tam wanted out the league he would have pulled out before this especially if there is a import less next season to pay for even better for him

The happy clappers are not clapping so loudly now for some reason! Not long ago the signings were the best thing since sliced Hovis and the team was being run by a couple of gods!

As it happens I was asked about the situation at Fife today by an onlooker from overseas, here's my take (may as well cut and paste it)
This old chestnut.
No secret the Flyers would rather be anywhere else rather than the EIHL - the owners are disliked and the feeling is mutual - I'm not just paranoid but the brown end of the stick is handed to Fife way more than any other team.
My inside source says that Muir is losing money, he is no Hepburn, his reserves don't allow him to be that stupid.
Fife have always been a club where the imports are treated well. There is no revolving door, never has been going back way before the EIHL , if you are an import why wouldn't you want to play in Fife. So in recent years the team has been boosted with an additional signing, not a root and branch dismantling mid season like some teams can afford to do. The core of these teams have been competitive however, this season's bunch simply do not have the necessary balance and or don't have the one or two individuals to create the on ice spark when the chips are down or to get them into winning positions. No doubts you have been reading some of my posts on the numbers, horrific. There are historic issues with how the club run the business side, it's also very expensive and there are a lot of games. I have no idea why they can't change the business operation however as it's mostly common sense but this season we have the perfect storm for people to vent, even those from the outside looking in.
Recruiting teams on an annual basis has no science behind it, I liken it to draft picking, more a crapshoot, at some point you are going to get it wrong. Fife got it wrong in most departments this year.
Would it be a shock if they dropped from the EIHL? Yes if it was done in isolation. Are other teams in a similar situation in this league? No doubt. Is there a way in which they could create something better to suit their needs, possibly, I also don't doubt that discussions have been had. Dropping out to join the SNL however I just can't fathom. Muir would love nothing more than a team stacked with local guys, he aint getting that by playing in the EIHL.
I'm waiting for something to happen but not just in Fife.

All the article is doing it going over exactly what fans have been saying on social media over the past month or two. What needs to happen is for the FFP to be asking the coaches and management the tough questions, I wont hold my breath on that happening.

I'm not disputing your source but Muir is a successful business man why if as your source says he is losing money why not just pull the plug on it and save himself the aggravation

The thing is these problems haven't suddenly just reared there ugly head this has been going on for the last few seasons just look at previous forums and the same issues will be getting talked about. Overplaying the imports not playing the Brits very little physicality throughout the team same systems not plan b no quarterback for the power play

I'm guessing because it would be easier to do so out of season when there's no contracts / agreements with players, flats, sponsors.... etc
And your right, the realists amongst us have been saying it for donkeys now but commonly referred to as moaning!

The biggest thing I don't understand is he has been around the fia for years so he knows what could be achieved with the right coach and product on the ice how full the fia would be every week

You'd get a lot of flats on that bit of ground.
