Sam Jones is sure to be hot property this off season, I would think the chances of him returning are very slim indeed. It’s maybe just as well we’ve developed guys like Cochrane and Simpson who can step in and fill the void.......oh wait a minute!!

Think you are all right about there being less money this close season but that is only if the current model is followed.
Perfectnightmare's idea of creating a fund is a good start to changing that. There's a difference between a club that wont accept help and one that has to. The Flyers might be moving into the second category.
Already seen other fan groups locally look to cancelling their sky sports - nothing on now anyway and putting the money towards their team.
Fully appreciate there will be companies and people struggling financially over the next few months but there will also be others that do well. Maybe they would want to put something back into the community? If you know them, please ask them.

Got to think outside the box in desperate times. I believe the league should sensibly be taking the opportunity to reduce import numbers in each team by at least 3 so that everybody fairly has reduced overheads should next season goes ahead. Also obviously allowing brits to come through. Nothing to stop increasing them again in future seasons.

Also obviously allowing brits to come through. Nothing to stop increasing them again in future seasons. Issue with that is that the level of brits needed to compete with the top teams just isn't there so you would have a very uneven league (which is one if the reasons the import number has gone up in the first place). Imagine us with 10 imports one brit possibly two against steelers with 10 imports and Ben O'Connor, Robert Dowd, Jono Phillps, Davie Phillips, Cole Shudra, Kieren Brown and young Alex Graham coming through the ranks. They would then bring in guys like Sam Jones (one of the top clubs would grab him) and no doubt some others it would be a massive imbalance. Back when it was 10 imports at least we had several brits who could play in the league, we are not in that position at this time.

Only way this could work would be if we brought in at least 5 guys like Sam Jones from the NIHL and that costs as much (in some cases more )as bringing in low level imports/Uni guys from NA.

Dundee Stars season tickets now on sale, short video on YouTube with prices. Early bird tickets on sale until 31/05, do you think we will have said anything by then?!

Considering the rink is a reserve mortuary depending on how bad this gets, season ticket prices aren't gonna exactly be a priority right now...

This won’t sound right but the rink being looked at for this reason has zero to do with the flyers and planning for next season. Yes it’s unclear how things are going to be going forward but that doesn’t mean you just stop and forget about everything. You still have to put plans in place.

To be clear I don't mean to sound insensitive, there are bigger things going on and it's a worrying time. No harm in having a framework or timescale for next season though, nobody knows how quick or long this is going to last.

It is time for the league to think outside the box, and probably for the next 2 seasons to allow especially the smaller clubs to recover. Along with continuing with the under 23 players, and the slow reduction in imports, things like perhaps having half the imports from the Europe, this would reduce various costs surely. Fixed import numbers so the bigger teams can't just have an endless squad. Challenge cup semis and final in one weekend, raise more cash for all clubs.

It's the point that there is something much more important going on right now than worrying about season tickets for a season that's still pie in the sky.

Appears Todd is back next season whenever that will be....not that it was in doubt....in the FFP saying hes starting work on next season already...... best he can atm anyway. Has spoken to the core he wants back with positive talks and states there will be big changes to roster to add the xfactor we have missed.
