Who you got as the best player on our team so far this year?
Hands down Kivilahti for me. 14 points in 12 games in the leauge, 12 points in 6 games in the cup, great effort every night, fantastic hands and runs our PP when its hot.

Kivilahti for me. Most improved for me is Cochrane, certainly capable of holding a regular position

Most improved I can agree with, he is looking like he can stay with this level. Would really like to see page getting more ice time - he's a big mobile boy with energy to burn at that age.

Another who is really impressing is Johansen. Very strong on the puck and very effective off the puck. Moves surprisingly well for such a big guy. A results a result and that’s why we’re where we are but I think the fact that for large chunks of the games were challenging the big teams, goes to show that we’re a mid placed team at worst.

Yip mines is Johanson, class player.
I have a question re Flyers recruitment. Why get another import in as a spare, why not make an actual effort to have another Brit forward either a quality one or a couple of 2 ways with teams like Solway or Whitley, they can actually play without someone having to sit and add depth, it is what's holding us back this season. Or do both spare import and couple 2 ways.

Kivi for me closely followed by big Johansson. Also quite like Sherbs and Harsch on the back end.

I agree with Kivilahti... great player!
In terms of those having a poor season... I love Shane Owen, but by his own high standards, he is having a statistically bad campaign... an 88.67 save % is very worrying... especially given the number of shots we are facing every game!!

Don’t worry, he’s got new pads and gloves now, that’ll improve

He’s leeking an average of 4 goals per game prior to last night There is a few he would want back from last night We’re losing to many short handed goals also The team have improved on the kill and pp is improving Special teams getting better Owen has no competition but we know what we get He’s had some outstanding games this season But 5 in Manchester and seven last night 6 in Sheffield not great He’s way down the stats table

I thought this years D-core would have been a big improvement over last years, but we appear to still be leaking a lot of goals this season. As Todd and Jeff have continually said, we need team defense and that means the forwards are also trackng back, but two of our forwards are leading the team in the - column. With big Larry at -14 and surprisingly Laakkonen at -10. The SOG disparity from last season seems to have been reduced, but we are still conceding far too many goals.

We keep getting caught out on the PP leading to odd man rushes and Owen getting hung out to dry We have lost 4 shorties so far could be more Think the team are to focused on scoring on PP and mistakes have cost us

So hopefully with everyone being fit,Sandstrom back and Sherbinin, we have a genuine spare import. So who sits? There are a couple under performing forwards for me, most obviously being Gerrie, close 2nd C Lawrence (seems to be too slow and doesn't hit or do anything physical). I think Sandstrom comes straight back in if fit as he has that Danny Stewart nippy thing about him that this team needs. We will also lose Henderson as Solway have a cup semi this Saturday, so back to bare bones cover wise. D wise, looks as though Hausinger has come on to a game recently he stood out against Belfast, Harsh is needing to be more physical and they missed Sherbinin in the home game, but we have no real cover here as they won't play Page under any circumstances so no one getting dropped unless injured.
