How has Dundee done it then? And I take it you don't rate Scott Jamieson as meriting more of a chance than he got, there were certainly lots of folk on here shouting for this?

And why then does Spence not get more of a chance, he's played in Canada and Europe in far better leagues, same for Henderson plays in a better league than SNL. could it be the coaches? could it be there might be players out there in snl and other leagues but at Fife we will never know as they don't get a chance?

What needs done is a new coaching team in place, then the new coach be honest with fans and say is a fresh start we will work with youngsters, give them an opportunity to train and play every week, in first year of this project we hope to make play offs, year 2 guys will have had a year under there belt and will expect more.
If that expectation got put to fans and homegrown played week in week out I think fans will buy into that for the first season with a new coach and new outlook, knowing we are trying to make future home grown stars.

What the league and fife needs for sustainability is a reserve/under 18 or 21 league, it should be a requirement to enter the EIHL. They play against each other before the first teams. Any spare imports can play, that means the younger guys are constantly playing games at a higher level, would have a level of import hockey involved and would give a greater visibility to what’s out there coming through. Exactly like what used to happen in the English premiership in football years ago. I truly believe that would make a massive difference.

I like these guys and I'm not taking anything away from them but if they were elite level why are there not any other clubs taking them ..its because they are not ready a take a regular shift (although I think Henderson is possibly not far away from it) The whole system in Scotland is heavily weighted against any locals making the jump. Its just too big, they need to go elsewhere to get a intermediate league to allow them to hit the next stage and that doesn't exist here |

Or could it be they get no game time at Fife so no other team can see them therefore have no idea whether they are ready for elite level?

Local talent has never been given a fair shot at Flyers for donkeys. When we did have local guys in the team when we first entered this s41t league they were continuously called out by our coach. Since then the few that have actually stripped up for Flyers in my opinion anyway have been treated like dirt, odd shift or a few minutes here or there, but for much of their time sat on their jax on the bench. How do we know if they are good bad or indifferent with so little ice time? How many games over the last 3 seasons have games been over and done with with lots of time left yet still the youngsters aren't blooded, would it really have mattered if we got beat by a goal or two more in these games, I don't think so if these guys got some quality ice time. TD is a rubbish coach but his biggest failing is taking the Fife out of Fife Flyers.

Local talent has never been given a fair shot at Flyers for donkeys. When we did have local guys in the team when we first entered this s41t league they were continuously called out by our coach. Since then the few that have actually stripped up for Flyers in my opinion anyway have been treated like dirt, odd shift or a few minutes here or there, but for much of their time sat on their jax on the bench. How do we know if they are good bad or indifferent with so little ice time? How many games over the last 3 seasons have games been over and done with with lots of time left yet still the youngsters aren't blooded, would it really have mattered if we got beat by a goal or two more in these games, I don't think so if these guys got some quality ice time. I've noticed for time suggesting he takes over as coach. He is part ofcthd current coaching team so this is partly on him. Complete clearout needed. |

Jeff is decent but he’s recruited and coached this team along with Todd I think we need a new coach completely. Martin Grubb would be good but can’t see much change happening unfortunately. |
