Been doing some work trying to put together a very high level, simplistic view of what I reckon it could cost to run the club.
I have put together a spreadsheet, and tried to jot down all the key income streams, and weekly/setup expenses that the club will definitely be hit with.
Now before anyone jumps in, this is my take on things, there is nothing to suggest this is what the costs and incomes are today, it is merely meant as something to get some discussion, and also try to put into context why I think, we should be able to afford 11 imports.
Now again, I hasten to add, you will see some estimates on crowd numbers etc, and this is not factual, but I have tried to base it on the numbers we have seen this season etc, so don't shoot me down for it being maybe out compared to reality, that said, the numbers seem to make sense to me, and don't look too far off the wall.
Just wondered what you all think. The numbers I used are shown in the attachment, and it ends up with a deficit of around £2,000 each week that will require funded via sponsorship etc.
You will also see I haven't stuck to the suggested £6K wage cap, as I'm not actually sure if it still even exists, let alone is stuck too, but looking at the imports we have, I don't see how it's possible to have stuck to £6K.
Some Assumption I made are:
Assumption Season is 30 Weeks Long, and 4.5 weeks in a month
Crowd estimates do not include Free Tickets Issued
Assumed Arena Hire is £2K per week
Assumed Rent covers 5 houses/flats @ £750 per month each
Assumed Council Tax is £30 per week, per property
Assumed Amenity Bills are £40 per week, per property
Assumed all Car Costs are covered by Sponsors
Assumed ITC Cards are £1K each to process
Assumed we go with 11 Imports (3 High, 5 Mid and 3 Low)
Assumed we go with 9 British Players (3 High, 6 Low)
Assumed Flights for Imports are £1,500 Return per player
Assumed Program Printing Costs are part of Sponsorship
Assumed Misc Expenses (i.e. food etc of £50 per player per week)
Assumed Top End Import Wage - £1,000 per week
Assumed Mid Earning Import Wage - £750
Assumed Low Earning Import Wage - £500
Assumed High British Player Wage - £350
Assumed Low British Player Wage - £200
Assumed no profits made directly to club from Arena (i.e. Bars etc)
