To be fair, if you read the forum last season some of 'us Fifers' were tipping Zemlak to be in the NHL within a couple of years or saying he was the best goalie to play in the UK. I actually don't remember many tipping him to flop over at Braehead if I'm being honest. I do remember posting when Clan announced Zemlak that I thought it was short sighted and the wrong move for both club and player. Unfortunately I don't remember if that was this forum or somewhere else. Yes I do remember all the plaudits that Zemlak was getting here and by Fifers elsewhere but as the season went along those of us without blinkers saw the flaws in his game as well and why at 22 he was over here and not, at least, in the AHL

I heard from an ex SNL goalie that Braehead is an awful place to play for a keeper, something to do with the lights, not sure if that was just a personal thing tho, maybe horse could shed some light on that?

I remember at the start of the year when Campbell hadn't arrived and we beat you saying he wouldn't make much of a difference anyway but you(clanfandoug) told me the complete opposite and how good he was and how i must have never seen a clan game last year.. i think on this occasion i was right ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Ask most Clan fans mate last season on the third line he was good, so on last years performance I was hoping for more but this season he was not the same player sadly

I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that the vast majority of Flyers fans had a vastly inflated idea of Zemlak's abilities last season and that's been borne out by his current form. A lot of Clan fans probably thought they were getting a superstar based on the reputation Flyers fans gave him.

I think Zemmer does have an unbelievable amount of talent and he displayed that a number of times last season. He is big, athletic, has a great glove and fantastic on Penalty Shots however he has some major flaws namely his positioning and puck handling.
I have to say I am not a student of goalies so my knowledge is quite limited but the way he performed on last season's team did make me think he was destined for greater things than the elite league NHL never in a million years but I did think he would end up in a bigger league this year.
You notice a huge different between him and Pitts in terms of all around ability. Zemmer makes some spectacular saves but to me it seemed the reason for this was because his positioning was not upto scratch so he had to make sprawling athletic saves. Pitts is much more technical and always seems to be square to the shooter so he takes a lot more shots to the body than Zemmer ever did.
I haven't seen Osaer or Bowns yet this season but on the NM I have seen I would say the NM shape up as follows:
1. Riopel 2. K Wall 3. Pitton 4. Murphy 5. Hiadlovsky 6. Zemmer 7. De Caro 8. Hirsch
I think the top 3 are pretty much on a par but Riopel is facing a lot more rubber so he is getting talked about the most. Murphy is a phenomenal keeper and I have been really impressed with Hiadlovsky but Zemmer simply isn't one of the best NM in the league this year in my opinion.

Surely if he wants to stay in the uk realistically due to other teams mostly having full rosters fife would be the best bet, ok maybe not top drawer but will definately add depth and improve what we currently have. I would take them both, we need an out and out centre man and Campbell would do a fine job on our third line and finally out Brits would be able to play with an experienced pro who would no doubt help them on the ice. Go and get them both!!

Certainly has ability to put up points. Pretty much a point per game average in CHL and EIHL. Maybe not the hardest worker but cant argue with his numbers.

Campbell pretty much the same in terms of ppg in CHL and EIHL. before this season he would look like a great pick up for Fife but seems to have had a disaster so far this year!

They won't have a better chance to improve the team by signing these 2, no itc cards, no flights, straight in, already match fit, and have good experience in the league, would make complete sense if you ask me!

Chaumont has a point to prove to Braehead now. From what I hear many Clan fans think he's too lazy, this might be the kick up the **** needed to get more out of him. Mike Wirll was a bit agrieved at not getting resigned by the Clan in the summer and has gone on to prove his worth at Dundee, 31 points in 19 games, currently 3rd top points in the league. The Clan must be wishing theyd hung on to Wirll instead of Campbell

Well in my opinion I think the Clan let the wrong players go, as do a lot of other Clan fans, although Chaumont hasn't done himself any favours with his tweet. When the Clan signed Zemlak I did say he was the wrong fit for the club. Just hope Ryan and Bobby don't come back to haunt us!!

When released by the Clan there's no way these two are rocking up at the FIA uninvited, so the only question is, will we offer them enough £ to stay.
