We saw how good this team can be in the first two weeks of the season until Todd got his hands on them and taught him the precious 'systems'. I actaully think the players signed this years aren't too bad. But we see Todd stand week in week out with his hands in his pocket doing nothing. He's out of his depth. It's time for him to go and the Flyers to take this league serious with a genuine coach. Danny has been past it from when he signed with the Flyers. Sooner he's gone the better.

I have to agree. It is a far cry from coaching in the BNL to coaching in the Elite league and I'm afraid it's a step too far for Todd. As for Danny I can't deny that he gives 100% however sometimes it feels like we are an import short ( no pun intended )

Different team same problems, coaching change has been needed for years. I'll pick and choose my games from now on, it's a total waste of my weekend now. I love hockey, it's meant to be fun to watch, I spent last night yawning and checking other sports news on my phone. Brutal just brutal, no change is coming tho, players will get the punt before Dutes! And they ain't the issue.
You know exactly what will come out of the Flyers clique "don't like it don't go"

I would have liked Danny to be given a chance on his own at the end of last season but think that it's now time for both to be replaced. I suspect the crowds increased last year, despite results, due to better exposure and marketing and the management has been complacent.

Dutes interview from last night now on YouTube.
We are playing good hockey and we weren't beat by a better more physical team.
He does concede our Powerplay is poor but seems to say it's players trying to do their own thing rather than his system being at fault.
If that's good hockey then God help us when we start playing badly.
Sorry but our coaches are so far out of touch with reality it's scary.

We lost a game we had plenty of chances to win, why can't we put the puck in the net?
Why would any sane person waste a lot of money every week to come and watch games like last night.
Officials that have no control of a game and destroy it as a sporting contest.
A Flyers team with no plan A, B or C, every team in the league knows how to shut us down, and does week in, week out. Occasionally we will win games, but without good systems that will not happen, by and large we have better players throughout this year, but they have been coached down to our previous level, yet again. Todd has been a loyal servant, but he is no longer fit for purpose, he does not have the motivational or management skills to get the best out of his players and Danny has gone from being hope to being dope, how often does he connect with a pass, if has not already lost the puck in trying to showboat, how he was awarded MOM last night beggars belief, there were many other players far more worthy than that, but also, how did Hendrikx get MOM for Cardiff, he was not an enforcer, he was a thug from start to finish.
On hockey ability Cardiff should beat us every week, but as all they showed for most of last night's game was brutality and thuggery, is that what this League has become, a gladiatorial contest between thugs, we don't have that type of player and I agree with that, but we need officials who can apply the rules of the game and protect players trying to play hockey.
Unfortunate that Mr Craig's car was damaged, but he cannot be surprised at some people overreacting to displays like last night, he went out of his way to create a hostile environment and he nearly succeeded.
Against Coventry we had fresh players showing what they were capable of, they have now been coached out of that and are learning the "Fife way" and you can already see the results, they are being made to look just as ordinary as every other year.
Let's be honest, the League wants our "oldest pro hockey team" tag, but does not want our team in EIHL and seen to go out of their way to find new ways of making us suffer at the hands of inept officials, and it is not just us complaining about the same officials, Cardiff were very vocal in their criticism of them but got no abuse of official calls, speaks volumes.
Time to ring the changes or it will be another fight for the wooden spoon come play-off time, not even sure we are capable of an 8th or 9th place finish on current form.

COYF Can agree with pretty much everything except 'Unfortunate that Mr Craig's car was damaged'. That is not unfortunte but disgraceful behaviour by some thug that needs to be caught and punished, don't agree that it can or should be linked to the ref's performance during the game.

Appalled to hear that the referee's car was damaged. The culprit should be banned from games and made to pay for the damage. We may lose out to refereeing decisions now and again but that is no excuse for this sort of behaviour. Fed up watching Flyers again as we are again missing the key ingredients that are needed to win. Todd knows best though. If the plan was to get bullied but score lots on the powerplay then it has backfired. Assuming we lose tonight then that will be four in a row with two tough games against local rivals next weekend. If we lose those too then what happens? Probably nothing. I am happy with the players but we need a bit of a heavy weight presence and a new coach!

Absolute disgrace if anyones car was damaged. If true hopefully the police resolve the matter. Not the refs fault that the Flyers are playing terribly.

I want Todd and Danny to succeed and like them both. However you've got to say that all things being equal they're drinking in the last chance saloon at the moment-or should be.
I think it's fair to say that although most of us were willing to give it a chance, the new philosophy is playing out the way we dreaded.
I get not having an out and out enforcer and bringing in 'responsible' players but too many of our guys are way too similar. When we're in a hole I'm not sure who I'm looking to provide a spark or even do something to change the course of the game. I like Paquet, Lee, Dingle and Caig, and the rest aren't terrible either but the blend just isn't there.
I think Flyers should always have maverick types that excite the crowd and bring something different. I'm just not sure Todd likes handling that type of player. I reckon the guys we have just now will be easy to coach but we can't ask them to do stuff they just simply can't do. The 'team toughness' thing is going to haunt us IMO. It's true that we've got guys who don't necessarily back down but one battering after another will really start to hit morale on and off the ice soon. Players like Rioux should not be put in the position he was on Saturday- good on him for doing what he did but it just shouldn't have happened.

In no way was I condoning damage to anyone's vehicle for any reason, and never would.
To suggest that this will incur further bad refereeing in future is also a disgrace, we must not lose sight of the fact that our players were at risk of severe physical injury last night and the official's that were tasked to referee the game made it abundantly clear that they had neither the will nor the inclination to offer any protection to Fife Flyers players by applying the rules of the game to the Cardiff team, if players think that we will be targeted by poor refereeing decisions in the future in light of this incident, they might find themselves not wanting to play in an unsafe environment, where their personal safety is not held to be of any value by the officials in hockey games.
Hockey at it's best is a fast, physical and entertaining sport played by athlete's who work hard to be in peak physical condition to earn their salary, this depends on both teams playing by the rules and by those entrusted with officiating at these games to apply them fairly and evenly for the benefit of all participants, this was clearly not the case last night and has been suggested in a previous post, this might also not be the case in future games.
Can someone from the Elite league not address the situation of the standard of officials provided to control the games played under their auspices. We were assured that over the summer, all officials had been subject to rigorous training and fitness coaching to enable them to keep up with the evolving rules of the game and the speed at which it is played. We have had the same officials at more than 50% of our games this season, how can that possibly be fair in any sport.
As things stand we seem to be unable to be given a chance at this level of hockey, largely due to underperforming officials, so no matter what playing staff we have we will not be allowed to succeed.
Supporter numbers are already declining and on last night's performance this only going to get worse, and another loss tonight will see us once again struggling to stay in touch with the other teams.
We are too good for any other leagues that we could participate in, even if we wanted too, and are clearly not wanted in the Elite League as on ice and DOPS decisions always seem to be enforced more severely against us than other teams, so a lot of difficult decisions ahead, but lets not forget this topic was about changing our coaching staff, not about officials vehicles.
