Nice to see Todd blaming the fans in the press for the reason he probably won’t be able to sign any further players, no mate the crowds are low because of what you and your boss are putting on the ice

It's science

A better idea would be. Sack TD & JH and replace them with a player coach, two birds with one stone, save a wage and have an extra player ..... not science either.

She has not long finished saying the same thing. Be afraid if you start to be able to drink your body weight in gin and refuse to ever admit you are wrong. 🤗

After 30 plus years I stopped going to flyers games for one simple reason, the games were boring as hell. Not about winning or losing just utterly boring to watch. Seeing the same mistakes season after season, the same over using of imports. the same excuses year after year. the same digs at fans should they dare show they are unhappy with things. The shocking PR for the last few summers.
The club treats fans like fools, so fans have walked away.
They have treated the fans the soul of this club with no respect and continue to do so. Social media efforts are pathetic.
"The Flyers way" has failed and fans are showing them that.
Add in the way Dutes has blamed local guys for not being good enough while he has done nothing to bring on a single player in the last 8 years. Flyers with no locals in the line up how far out of touch has this team/club become with what makes the fans tick. Think back to Sammy Mookie and Titch jumping over the boards and playing against superleague teams in crossover games. the crowd just love a local guy doing well. Hell even Scoonie got fans cheering for his efforts even if he was never good enough for this level.
The head coach of this club is done and the fans know. Change is needed but it will never come unless he walks but his ego will never allow that.

This is just another example of a lack of identity with the Flyers. There are very few things that dont end up with a negative spin. Here TD is saying that income is down do he cant spend. He isn't blaming fans for that.
The club urgently need to find that connection with fans. Invite them in. Welcome to have a bit of ownership of getting more people into the rink. I dont think it would be too difficult to get an average attendance of 2000 so why not challenge a fans group to make that happen?
As a recent convert to the game I dont believe games are dull and not worth seeing. Far from it. What has been lost is the fun. Bring back the carting in the first break. Bring in some hype before the game. The whole pantomime of hockey cant be beaten.
If the club cant let people in, maybe update the twitter page so the December games not the November ones are advertised.
There is so much that is good and thank you to the people who make that happen but so much more could be better.

Lost connection with the fans big style over the last few years, no brits in the team, what brits we have had treated like dirt and unbelievably called out by our coach whilst a procession of unremarkable under performing imports come and go, uninspiring hockey, perennial bottom half of the table club, a PR regime that is about as bad as it gets, it's maybe surprising that we get over 1000 at games.

I think we’ll see it drop below the 1K at some point this season if it keeps going in the same direction. Remember pack the burn? A bit of effort and there’s over 3000 people in the building, can’t be arsed with that anymore though.

I never understand why they don’t give away 1000 free tickets to schools just to fill up the area a bit, make money off the cafe and hopefully parents turn up so have to pay to get it, hell give away 1500/2000

Said it from day 1 when they knew they were going elite things should have been put in place to make sure we had kids coming through that were good enough and bug enough and ready for this league mentally and physically, but naw let them all go I have 14 I will play them till there hospitalised.
Also the owners and management either haven't a clue how to fix this pr wise or don't give 2 hoots about fixing it

Also the owners and management either haven't a clue how to fix this pr wise or don't give 2 hoots about fixing it It’s both but certainly the second point is the bigger issue. We keep hearing that new ideas are being looked at and I suppose the Styx night was a start (even if I don’t agree with how it was done) but it’s just not a consistent effort, which i think is down to it being done by volunteers. It needs a full time person to market this club and take control. Hell a decent GM would make more difference than the two traffic cones behind the bench every game. The owners need to let someone else run the hockey side of things ( we all know that will never happen) if they just continue as they are then it’s never going to get fixed.

Go check out Cardiff on their website and social media outlets. It’s not that hard to use the same ideas to improve our output and fan interaction.

Noticed on Facebook that a junior from Fife Harvey Topen has left to play for Dundee in the SNL, anyone know of this is another loss to the flyers future?

For what its worth... i went to watch an SNL (Cup) game a couple of weeks ago... Aberdeen Lynx v Murrayfield Racers... up in Aberdeen... the standard of play was really poor... pedestrian at times... it's no wonder that guys at this level are not stepping up to the EIHL in their droves... not sure what the answer is, but these guys have their level and no amount of coaching is going to enable them to skate quicker, hit harder or have more of a physical presence... if you havent already done so, i would check out an SNL game or 2 and you will see the chasm in speed and quality...

Exactly what I have been saying..it's an import league we are in ..like it or not..Fife has no one capable of an elite level regular shift. And you can talk about development all night long. But if they are not good enough, or even if they are but can't afford to not work and take the risk of putting all their time into following the dream, then it's no going to happen.
