Look at the stats that tells you the owners are not giving anymore outlay to this season Tom and Jack are at every game surely the can't enjoy this poor run There is no plan b For the first time since 1988 the end of the season can't come soon enough Many of us take a leap of faith and shell out £500 before there is a single announcement The club is going to have to work a lot harder next close season for folks to part company with their cash The great night out, I have forgotten what it feels like to win a hockey game and leave FIA happy

Zamboni that is what they seem to forget people are working damm hard to get the money to either pay weekly or buy a season ticket. And as you say you are buying a season ticket without knowing what kind of team will be on the ice the least the fans can expect is it will be a team that works hard for a full sixty minutes and not just when they feel like it. You go to a game to be entertained to forget about any cares or worrys you may have for a couple of hours. Back in the eighties a Saturday night was what you looked forward to at the fia a full auld barn great product on the ice and that went into the ninetys and the beginning of the new century it was still a great Saturday night experience

Well I've just cheered myself up after being on a real Flyers downer for what seems like forever.
Looking on elite prospects at our roster and seeing Jeff Hutchins listed as director of player development.......! hahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahaha hahahahahaha hahahahhahaah hahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahaha. I'd forgotten about that hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
That's a cracker, in the real world you'd love to be a fly on the wall in the annual review meetings. "Well Jeff how do you think things have gone this season?"
.......eh.......... well........ mmmmm........ going great I think!

I think it's obvious by the amount of brits that's left and the turn over of Imports, there is NO player development hence why they leave.

First of all I’m a ex player, I’ve don’t live in fife anymore, but I follow from a distance where-ever I am in the world......
The Muir regime has been his way or no way, I wish people would open the rose (or blue) specs and see that! His old man and wishart were by far easier to handle. I believe TD is a family friend, and he has an affinity with the whole clan, after what happened years ago tragically.
That is why Muir is so attached to him. He has loyalty.
I receive updates and viewed the latest reports and abuse, you can’t knock a guy that pays for a team houses them, and arranges sponsorship.
What really did hack me off, was the game time his son received, stifling players who went elsewhere, I’m not going to name names but look at the players that left while playing fiddle to the enforcer!
Again TD ‘loyalty’’. And reports of his way or no way that have caused at least 15 players to leave over the years..... TD is just his puppet, and is now being found out, I’m told Fife F, is no longer a good night out, predictable, and the standard has gone back 25 years! Remember Darrin Bannister!
Muir won’t sell wee Tommy will end up managing them one day, directly or indirectly!
The only way you will see real change is if Tam sells on - won’t happen, or TD moves on..... nothing will change.
Very sad to hear, shout out to the boys from the lounge!

After 30 plus years I stopped going to flyers games for one simple reason, the games were boring as hell. Not about winning or losing just utterly boring to watch. Seeing the same mistakes season after season, the same over using of imports. the same excuses year after year. the same digs at fans should they dare show they are unhappy with things. The shocking PR for the last few summers. The club treats fans like fools, so fans have walked away. They have treated the fans the soul of this club with no respect and continue to do so. Social media efforts are pathetic. "The Flyers way" has failed and fans are showing them that. Add in the way Dutes has blamed local guys for not being good enough while he has done nothing to bring on a single player in the last 8 years. Flyers with no locals in the line up how far out of touch has this team/club become with what makes the fans tick. Think back to Sammy Mookie and Titch jumping over the boards and playing against superleague teams in crossover games. the crowd just love a local guy doing well. Hell even Scoonie got fans cheering for his efforts even if he was never good enough for this level. The head coach of this club is done and the fans know. Change is needed but it will never come unless he walks but his ego will never allow that.

Last two posts are great.
Flyers have dropped the ball, let's face it it's been a hot potato for a few seasons now.
Great deal of good luck required in selecting the imports each season with TD in my opinion anyway only ever getting a good bunch together in the Ian Young season, he's had enough chances for me now and should be replaced.
My biggest gripe is watching a Flyers team with little or no local guys involved and the coaches apparent dislike of these guys. A Flyers team without fifers in it ain't worth the bothering about. And I know the argument that they ain't good enough but who's been given a decent chance? And what does it say about our imports now we have finally slipped to the bottom of the league, most are poor at best we wouldn't in a worse position if we'd played our Brits all season. For me I'd be happier seeing a Flyers team with a core of local guys getting regular ice time being bottom of the league than bring in a fight for bottom with a group of dodgy imports and no locals.

Joe, the reality is that crowds would fall further than they have already done if we had half a team of Brits but the current situation of one local guy that gets a pittance of shifts is a disgrace. TD has stated he is not there to develop or motivate players but to coach well we all have our thoughts on that score. To produce local talent is a major cost and committment for parents and who in their right mind would fork out knowing there is no where to go in the pro ranks of your home team. 99% of people attending Flyers can see changes are required, TD has lost all his credibility in my opinion and the situation is down to him, don't you just get sick of hearing that it's everybody else's fault including the fans regards the situation we find ourselves in, nine years to go full circle, it's time to get off the bus.

The jumps too big from SNL to elite, simple as that, so the fix is establishing links with an NIHL team and sending the younger better players there too develop for a couple seasons and bring them back, however if you’re 15/16 living with your parents at school are you really going to head south, move school for a couple of years because you “might” get a chance with the flyers? No. The likely thing is they’ll keep them training until they’re 18/19, by this time realistically it’s probably too late, once they’re done with school and given Fife a year or 2 they’ll head to a lower league, or like chad smith somewhere else to plug a gap, but let’s be honest that’s probably all he’s going to do there. Paul Thomson’s idea of an elite under 20 league is by far the best idea to improve the youth, and for me it should be mandatory, if you’re in the elite league, you have to have an under 20 team, play the game immediately before the elite game or use the reverse venue, have the guys training up regularly, and even allow the under 20s league to ice 2 imports (healthy scratches, guys coming back from injury etc), for me until a massive overhaul like that happens we won’t have any youngsters making the jump because the gap is simply too wide for Scottish juniors.

The issue of Buesa, Cochrane and on a lesser level Smith not getting ice time from Todd is a different issue and that yes lies completely at the door of Todd the way he treats those individuals.

Sorry but I couldn’t disagree more about this SNL EIHL gap for guys. Not having a pop at you swarfiga more every post that says that same nonsense. The kestrels have jamie Wilson tommy muir chris wands Allan Anderson in their line up. The kestrels ain’t winning every game despite having guys with more than 1100 EIHL games. If the gap was so huge why are these guys not dominating the SNL league! Liam Stenton has played several games for the clan and I mean played regular shifts, he is 17. Is he fully developed physically? is he fast enough? is he good enough right now? Guess what it’s no on all 3 but he will be. Marty Simpson is playing for the racers in the SNL at 21, we have him on a contract yet he ain’t good enough to come up and play while we have 5 defencemen. I don’t believe that for a second! Trust me there are guys who could play up no problem. When you get on the ice with better players you do play better. Some guys perform way better at higher levels. This narrative is b/s from Todd that he has thrown about with no substance to back it up. One last point hutchy is the development director yet has done nothing to address this gap! That alone tells you it’s PR B/S if it was such a problem him and Todd should have fixed it four years ago or at least started the ball rolling to solve it.
