Without it ending up as a shouting match serious questions need to be asked to address our current plight, what we are going to do about it both short and long term and how better to inform fans and promote the club on social media.

www.fifetoday.co.uk/sport/other-sport/fife-flyers-q-a-questions-directors-are-likely-to-face-1-5086932/ampThat's a decent list of Q's - I'd personally dial back on trying to dissect too much the on ice issues this year, not much value in that, recruitment isn't a science and other than the obvious reluctance to change things (which I'm sure will come down to purely financial reasons - remember the early red flag about being gate based even allowing for how horrible it was communicated at the time - and needs to be solved through answers and actions to many of the other questions) a bad team is just that and Fife have no devine right not to select a bad team every once in a while. If we got decent answers/commitments to most of this lot I'd be happy - can't see any glaring gaps.

Good format for the questions. Presume this might well be used on Tuesday.

Been critical when the planning was taking an age. Looks to be excellent though so well done to all involved.
Trying to get the night off - if there are still tickets? Still my main thought is the dire need to open the doors to those willing to help in the many areas that need improvement.
Cant see the owners paying for a GM to organise paid online staff, staff to increase attendances, staff to make the Great Night Out great again.....
They could allow a Trust to have governance over a structure of volunteers all tasked with the off ice activities and to dovetail in with the current volunteers and paid staff that do the core work. If this was agreed I think it would go a long way to placing the Flyers strongly into the local community once more.
Let's make the Flyers great again. Walls not required.

The business model from the early 90’s needs to change. Key roles need to be full time. Social media video content etc that will bring fans through the door. Get the product right on the ice and they stay, that means fast physical (FIA is a nightmare for other teams) hockey. Oh and stand up for the bloody goalie against anybody! No more off season media blackouts that simply can’t happen again. Local players have to be part of this team! Lastly hire a new coach, nice guy etc etc but a fresh start is needed.

Agree a full time and more professional outlook is required in so many areas. The weekend preview is better than what was being produced but basic amateurish mistakes are still being made. Today’s one has the wrong date on it and makes this old QC Inspector shake his head.

Exactly.... I do wish we will make a real effort this time to change and move forward...I am hoping the Directors agree with our gripes and also offer some solutions to them .

I think we will Hear from them that it's almost unsustainable with import levels. So for me the Brits and getting more fans are the obvious 2 areas. If they then say the gap is too big from SNL I would be citing the example of the Glasgow young Brits who all play same league as racers, and fact that wando got regular shift eihl and is now looking bang average in SNL.

Also, I know he won't want to get rid, but the luxury of 2 bench coaches, is surely something we could do without, with a player asst coach role, then employ more of a GM role? These are easy areas for saving. Oh and dish out 200+ tickets a week to schools, get the rink fuller, get money from cafe etc, and hook some new fans. Easy solutions.

See how we offer uni places to imports. What about getting local businesses sponsors on board to offer jobs apprenticeship to young Brits coming through. Even if that is the odd ones from down south who would otherwise not come. Ties them to the club on less if a hockey only wage and offers them something for future?

Because there are thousands of uni places and very few apprenticeship places..these places should go to the local young school leavers who have worked hard to try get a job in a trade they want..they should not be used as a bribe to get less qualified hockey players.

Some very good points and ideas in this thread. It adds to the frustration of the Flyers that clearly the fans have a real passion for the club and a bit of vision that it really badly needs.
I dont think the owners commitment to keeping the Flyers going as a business is at question - it's just the scale of it that is.
I would agree that a GM and professional support staff is what's needed but would you get any change out of £50,000 a year for that? Might be far more.
It is what is needed and should be an aspiration if the club is to compete at the top. Certainly sitting at the bottom is honkin' but is it truly where we currently are as an organisation?
I would have hope local politicians and the great and good would be at the meeting. Where else in Fife do we compete at the highest league in the UK? The banners tell you we have been giants. Time to get it woken up.
