Also, I know he won't want to get rid, but the luxury of 2 bench coaches, is surely something we could do without, with a player asst coach role, then employ more of a GM role? These are easy areas for saving. Oh and dish out 200+ tickets a week to schools, get the rink fuller, get money from cafe etc, and hook some new fans. Easy solutions. Realistically they could give out 1000 free child’s tickets to schools, iv never understood why they don’t do that, it doesn’t cost anything and even if a fraction come in it’s still more money being spent in the cafe etc as you say.

Some very good points and ideas in this thread. It adds to the frustration of the Flyers that clearly the fans have a real passion for the club and a bit of vision that it really badly needs. I dont think the owners commitment to keeping the Flyers going as a business is at question - it's just the scale of it that is. I would agree that a GM and professional support staff is what's needed but would you get any change out of £50,000 a year for that? Might be far more. It is what is needed and should be an aspiration if the club is to compete at the top. Certainly sitting at the bottom is honkin' but is it truly where we currently are as an organisation? I would have hope local politicians and the great and good would be at the meeting. Where else in Fife do we compete at the highest league in the UK? The banners tell you we have been giants. Time to get it woken up. Can’t really see local politicians supporting a team that is on a 14 game losing run. More likely for them to jump on the bandwagon of something that puts them in a good light. Still like the idea of a GM, but agree the cost might be prohibitive.

Thought the rink got the profits from the cafe not the Flyers?? The rink get all bar and food sales ..not a penny of that goes to flyers.

Right so even if they don’t get the profit from the cafe, you give 1000 free kids tickets out, say 200 of them go, say they bring 100 paying adults with them, there’s an extra £1800 through the door. Next week 100 of the kids want to go back and bring 50 adults? You see where I’m going with this, all they have to do is print tickets, send a player to drop them off and take a couple photos, that does not cost money and they will get more people through the door. It makes zero sense not to go down that route.

Totally agree with you..but I think like you say the aim has to be to get them through the door once..but the match night experience has to be so good it makes them want to come back otherwise it's a total waste of time.. getting them through once with a free ticket won't make a difference.. it's the guff that the rink is serving up just now that's causing numbers to drop and cause the club to bleed money

14 (13?) Imports in Kirkcaldy this year, not one of them have been on the ice with the juniors, quite pathetic. Fair play to Sam Jones who takes junior gym sessions, shame on the imports.

Not the imports fault, should be in their contract from the club. They’re not going to do extra if they don’t have too, like 99% of the population at work

That's ridiculous about not utilising the imports to help with the juniors. That should be in all their contracts and why it's not is criminal. I remember the good old days when the imports often frequented the ice with the juniors. This once great club truly is descending into an embarrassment.

See the night is sold out, so cant get a ticket but pleased as it shows the level of support the Flyers have. Been impressed with the work Chris Ward has been doing for East Fife. Their social media has never looked slicker. Is there a chance the man that helped Braehead could help us? Not sure if this link works but is a very simple guide on how to help sponsor East Fife - t.co/BaH77MwQVT?amp=1 I'm sure the same can be found at the Flyers but not as easily.

Folks might not be the imports fault, SIHA a number of years ago stopped imports from attending training for juniors as it’s a minefield for PVG Clearance and holding the right coaching badges. I get that all seems like red tape nonsense but they have to ensure things are correct. It could be the reason why it doesn’t happen.

Ticket away. There's nothing on the Facebook page to remind people this is even happening, went on to see if there's confirmation it'll still go ahead with the weather. No idea how bad the roads are up that way

There's a Twitter post 3 hours ago giving arrangements for tonight which would suggest it's still going ahead.
