I hope that the virus does not get any worse for all you guys over there. Here we are house bound except to buy essential products at supermarkets and medications at chemist shops. Bars, cafes, restaurants, sports centres, pools, most shops and garages are closed. Petrol stations open though. This will be reviewed 29th March but experts say it could be a lot longer before we go back to normal. I hope you guys stay clear of the virus and have a good summer and Fife Flyers start the new season with a fresh start to make Fife Flyers a great team again and hockey night to be the great night out it was in the past. Salud y adios Jeez that's rough, hopefully these measures allow us to slow the spread of it. It's hard to know what will happen with it eh. All the best though, stay safe!

I'll drop Jack an email and ask if he'd be happy if I set up a fundraising page. Don't want to just do it, and want to ensure it's fully transparent etc Great idea happy to contribute to this. Even going down the development fund idea like Raith Rovers where contributions are monthly.

Emailed him this morning so will see what he says. Could even be as simple as a PayPal address they can link to a business bank account. Can use things like gofundme but might be ways of doing it to minimise the cut they take

He's going to discuss it with Tom and says it's something worth considering.

Don't want to just do it, and want to ensure it's fully transparent etc Great idea - Flyers have lost 2 home games which could have been worse but will leave a massive financial hole. I think a lot of fans will be keen to help minimise the damage. I’d happily contribute.

Maybe Flyers are not in as desperate need of funds as we believe and Tam and Jack have things under control. Boris and the chancellor have stated that no business will go under because of coronavirus but we will have to wait and see how that pans out. Not sure that asking supporters to shell out at this uncertain time is the right thing to do as many of us will be unsure as to what is going to happen with our own jobs/income, in the short to medium term at least. Having said that I'd probably chip in a tenner.
Raith Rovers are probably in a far more perilous state as always. They have a much bigger squad of players, coaching staff, office staff and probably need in excess of £60k a month just to cover wages. Mind you they do have "celebrity" supporters to bail them out!

Well I would think that following the loss of one if the largest gates of season v Clan, and the lack of crowds, that Flyers would jump at the offer of an extra cash to help.
I've just donated to the Rovers one as I would have been going to east Fife game anyway.
I'd be more than happy to do same with flyers, since I'd have went to Clan game with my son, and chips n curry sauce is a must!

This is it, there's a lot of fans across social media willing to pitch in a bit here and there, so I don't know why they're not grabbing any offer of help there is. I thought about setting one up last off season, to do wee jobs like fixing the score board and towards bigger maintenance issues like the car park - didn't get round to it cause things went a bit Pete tong. Folk won't miss ten or twenty quid here and there over the off season when they'd be spending that at the games anyway

Not really the way o go about it better to work with the people who want to help. I've emailed the club to ask if they would accept this help as well. Heres hoping they get back soon.

Hopefully you both get some communication from the club as there will be lots of fans willing to help or contribute. On the subject of communication, check out Cardiff’s update on the current situation and compare it to ours.

The problem with the club not having anyone in place to do this sort of role is clear. Despite the fans best intentions this will come to nothing, the club had to strike while the iron was hot, and its cooling quickly. I've also donated to the Rovers, they'll have raked in a few thousand. If this doesn't kick off within 24 hours I would just forget it.

Money like that would certainly help the Flyers fund these last minute flights home.
