A very real chance that final weekend will be cancelled due to corona virus ?
I'd say so, 10000 folk congregating from all corners of the country. It certainly must be getting discussed.

Several leagues in Europe have cancelled the remainder of their seasons including the EBEL and DEL. My guess is the EIHL have time on their side and will wait until the last moment before calling for it to be cancelled.

Season will surely have to be cancelled after the meeting UK parliament is having this afternoon. Spectator events will be canceled or behind closed doors and teams in this league can’t afford to play without paying bums in seats. Can’t see this weekends games going forward and if so then that will be it surely. League cannot get around government imposed regulations.

Will be interesting to see how quickly the EIHL react to what inevitably sounds like will be announced in a few hours. I understand that not everyone has the tech ability but I wonder how many people (not withstanding Season ticket holders who have of course already paid) would pay for the 2 or 3 home games teams will have left in the season to watch via a webcast (at increased cost), perhaps then plugging most of the financial hole ? Perhaps in the next 3-4 weeks the thing can be "ridden out" with the then ability to play a final weekend if the remaining season and quarter finals get played ? That said is it fair to expect the players and officials to play in such environments - pretty clear NBA player power got a complete shut down of games you can't see anything else but the NHL following later today as they consult their players union who I will be astonished say anything different about their members. Just start the summer now.

I've not been to a game for a while, are the flyers getting a crowd over 500 folk?

Announcement on Facebook - clan game will go ahead but no match night presentations and the auction will now be online only. Anyone attending is expected to adhere to basic hygiene and common sense - if you're ill don't go, cover your mouth, don't touch your face and avoid unnecessary contact.
Final game with blaze affected and they are in discussion with the league and blaze about how to go forward.
Awards event has been cancelled. Further updates to come

EIHL have cancelled all games for remainder of the season. No mention of play-offs but assume that's cancelled aswell.

Sad not to say a farewell to certain players ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) How ironic that this morning we appeared to be at the forefront of the social media game as the only team to say that games this weekend would be going ahead and that some changes were being implemented and then ……

Very sorry to hear this but probably the only decision the league could make. I am sure folk will be angry/disappointed with it and will be looking for refunds but it should be remembered that it's the league that cancelled this so for them to say and arrange help to clubs.
Maybe if they returned all if the Flyers fines......
As Rossco says it is also a shame a farewell couldn't be made to the players in a final game.
Hope everyone takes care through this and see you all in the new season.
ETA see a report on BBC Scotland sports pages that one Scottish premiership football club is relying on fans not asking for refunds. I appreciate no one has money to fling around, but may be a consideration at the Flyers too?

Got to agree with damonauldbarn .... Hopefully season ticket holders take the loss of 2 home games on the chin.... .We should not expect the Fife Flyers directors / owners, whom do their best to financially support the team each year have to dig into their own pockets for this horrid situation ,without them we have no team .
Lets ALL get through this and cheer a new Fife Flyers team onto the ice next season .... COYF.

Well I'm a season ticket holder and will not be asking for a refund. I would like / hope to see the Flyers on the ice next season.

Just one of those things, dont think a refund of a season ticket is appropriate. In fact quite the opposite, if there was a MD or similar (will there ever be?) I would suggest there would be some way for fans to donate £, I didn't have a Clan ticket but would happily have bought one as a donation, this whole situation must be costing the club a few quid.

I'll drop Jack an email and ask if he'd be happy if I set up a fundraising page. Don't want to just do it, and want to ensure it's fully transparent etc

I hope that the virus does not get any worse for all you guys over there. Here we are house bound except to buy essential products at supermarkets and medications at chemist shops. Bars, cafes, restaurants, sports centres, pools, most shops and garages are closed. Petrol stations open though. This will be reviewed 29th March but experts say it could be a lot longer before we go back to normal. I hope you guys stay clear of the virus and have a good summer and Fife Flyers start the new season with a fresh start to make Fife Flyers a great team again and hockey night to be the great night out it was in the past. Salud y adios
