They must still be watching here, video post from livi thanking the fans etc and hoping folk stay safe. So if constructive moaning on here gets sh*t done, then wire in everybody π Hopefully they'll fix my seat so it stops jagging me in the **** whenever I slide forward to see past the guy beside me who cany sit still. π

In all probability the video post has absolutely nothing to do with what is posted on this forum.

Just checked the websites of each of the ten teams and seven have a statement from either the GM or from the club, Blaze have player home update, Flames have not much more than Flyers other than EIHL updates, but none of the websites of the other clubs have an advert on the home page for games that were cancelled almost two weeks ago. It is frustrating trying to get any information out of the club. Appreciate that it is a difficult time for everyone and that there will be work going on behind the scenes, but surely the club could inform their current and future customers much better.

andi I love the enthusiasm you think there will be work going on behind the scenes. I don't have that same optimism

The Rovers have raised a ridiculous amount in a very small time. East Fife have started the same and with a low key start have already raised Β£2k.
It looks as though it was just fans that have organised both and not the club. It is maybe a case of if the mountain wont come to Muhammed, Perfectnightmare.
If money is a problem to some folk but they have plenty of time to spare in the house, maybe encouraging fans to have a clear out of unwanted clothes, store them away and when we are all allowed to get out again we could raise cash through those. Bound to be many ways to raise a few bob for the club.
You can tell I'm bored. Take care everyone. Good times will be back.

What would folk think about just starting one?
I was reluctant without the club being aware, as I'm leaving no room for accusations of it not being above board etc (especially so after the claims about money going walkabout previously). But they've not come back with anything about it.
I will look into the best crowdfunder sites and suss out the best one, some take a heftier cut and some are only for charities.
If folk are in support of just going ahead, then I'll go with the majority. Would have to make it clear it hasn't been endorsed by the club and is a supporters fund. I guess if it works and we get a decent amount, then we can approach the club with ideas of what the best use for the funds is.

Got my backing Perfectnightmare. Hopefully the FFP would back it and if it gets a good push from social media, it might prove to the club how useful that is too.
Good luck!

Great idea I'll share as much as I can. Also up for auctioning some signed flyers stuff to help towards the fund.

I tried promoting it on twitter the feedback was that they were uneasy unless Flyers were behind it personally. I've message Ali Mclaren to see if he can look into it and ask the club for their thoughts.

Thats fair enough. Now that it's started and donations going in they may be more inclined to agree to it - it's no work for them. The best option would be for them to allow an email to be set up on the flyers domain, so that there could be communication on an official channel as to how to spend the funds/put them to the best use. I'm not on twitter anymore but I appreciate you spreading it. It's very much a group effort.
If it comes to it and they're not willing to endorse a supporters fund, then I'll get in contact with anyone who's donated - it can be refunded or it can be put towards a one off thing like sponsoring something/travel next season.

Fans approached the club asking how to donate and they listened and set stuff up. The club endorsed it fully. Also the director did a little video explaining the financial situation and how this impact the club and how much theyβve lost. It was all transparent from Rovers and this helped enormously to raise the amount the did. Not sure about the East Fife one though.
