We have just over a week to get someone in, but in all seriousness, we really need them in for this weekend. It's going to be hard enough trying to take Devils and a trip to Edinburgh, but if we go short again, I fear for the worst alas. Nothing being tweeted from any of the usual sources about a new guy, but I suspect, if we don't hear by sort of 6pm tonight from the ffp, then there will be nobody in. We can't drop to bottom this weekend, but we could very easily be 9th. That said, we could also end up 6th or 7th (6th is unlikely), it's so tight down in our conference, that some additional help in terms of bodies is essential. We also have the small matter of Dundee on the tuesday. 3 games in 4 days is hard enough for a fully fit squad, never mind us

Just a gentle reminder from your friendly moderators to keep the thread on track. A few posts were bordering on inappropriate comments aimed at 1 or 2 individuals. Big Brother is watching :-) Find that quite ironic as most of your post are hurled at a certain mr Muir"

I will voice an opinion on how the club is run, but I never make them personal. My posts, I would hope are generally seen as constructive, and never threatening or as a direct attack. If they aren't taken this way, then of course, I apologise.

You guys should appreciate greatly that you have someone like Allan who is committed to the cause as he is and his posts on this thread are posts you should read and digest and not react to in any knee jerk fashion.
I am fortunate enough to have been involved in the sport working with clubs and indeed leagues for many years now and Allan is spot on in saying that as much as some fans have this demand to know everything it simply cannot work that way.
The work required to keep a pro hockey club on the ice at the standard we have currently in the Elite League is incredible - I know more than many of you that is the case from my involvement over the years and there is no doubt many of you simply do not appreciate the difficulties.
I hear moans about how long it has taken to get new guys in and that other teams do it easily - news flash - they don't.
Braehead for one have had unbelievable bad luck in losing payers and have had incredible difficulty in getting the 'right' guys in to replace them or adding new guys. You lose out on lots of players before the right guy comes in or in some cases doesn't come in.
I am sure Todd and Danny have had the same frustrations as Jordan krestanovich and now Paul Gardner have had in recruiting - and it's the same all over.
Flyers are in only their second EIHL year and are walking before they are running. That's the correct way and while you see improvement season on season you should be delighted that the people running your club have that belief in what they are doing.
Instant success won't ever work as expectations will always increase within a fan base and be impossible to deliver in a sport like hockey where every pound is a prisoner.
Support your team and help make Scottish hockey grow as it has been doing over the past two or three years.

Thing is we have been running short since September, lets be honest we could and should have been at full strentgh long ago. Its 5/6 weeks since Casey went down. More than a few clubs have lost players and replaced them in that time. Every other club is geared up for the playoffs while we are seriously short on bodies which is only making things worse. Nobody is claiming its easy but when you watch other clubs operate its hard to not feel like the we are missing something.

What do you mean by that, perhaps you would like to enlighten me i was beginning to think you and him were the same person.
Allan only let himself down by previous comments about me, i am more than prepared for straight talk on here but thought that wasn't very professional, if it wasn't for my wife we would have had a meeting by now i can assure you of that but we will stand on me.

I agree it was highly unprofessional, but you need to calm down and not rise to the bait. It was clear for all to see the comments were more than a bit off. Have faith that people will make up their own minds about it and don't let it bother you too much. There are far more important things in life

Good something I have learned in the last 50(odds) years is to stay calm, its generally not worth getting your blood pressure up about. Pick your battles and only let those you care about cause you worry, the rest are not worth it. I have now dispensed my advice, use it as you will.
