Attendances almost half of the target. Social media in a pivotal weekend going AWOL and requests to help going unanswered. Unacceptable response.
Especially where this has an impact on next season where the budget will be far less. Humiliation beckons as the home market in players with a bit of EIHL level experience looks not to be an option either. Will ticket prices have go up?
I have no idea what it costs to sign, bring over and pay players but unless we get significant changes and quickly how viable is this?
Could fans help cover the costs of 1 or 2? I dont see why not but needs organisation and the cooperation of the club.
Could we increase attendances and community involvement? Very easily. There is a long standing association with hockey in the area. There's a genuine affection for the game here. It's not something that has to be manufactured like in other areas.
Perfectnightmare looks to have nailed many good points in her offer of help but with no answer to date.
I'm not on social media. I have no connections at the club and have no great network within the fan base but would be willing to help arrange a meeting to see what fans could do if others were of a same mind.
So a few questions - is there anything else being arranged? If not, is there a willingness from others to meet?

In this day and age that is just outrageous. All the people that sacrificed their time to go along to the Bay hotel the other week must now be thinking what a waste of time that was. Still not even a final score on Facebook an hour after the game. Hope the “media manager” isn’t on a salary. Aware it is only a short time from the night at The Bay, but there looks like there is little improvement evident on the many aspects of the organisation that can be made so much better. I have messaged Ali direct on social media about it, and just been ignored surprisingly, honestly anyone that thinks that Q and A will make a blind bit difference in the long run need their head examined

Until the team sign players with character and identity and they start putting out a different on-ice product, then the crowds won't grow. It's too expensive to go to the hockey for the same blandness week in week out without match night entertainment. A few laps of Geordie Munro, a couple of balls fired into the seats and a radio controlled Zamboni is not match night entertainment. The first thing that needs doing is TD to be replaced and a freshness will be injected into the team immediately. Until then you can have as many meetings and intentions as you want but your farting in the wind.

2 first timers behind me last night. Bought a top and scarf from the shop and talking about buying season ticket for next year. Can’t be difficult to encourage people to come to a game and get them interested. Some decent marketing etc.

Some decent marketing etc. Said that with regards to a pr team that should include getting small groups of volunteers, a player or 2, geordie etc out to the main shopping centres/other high traffic areas - effectively canvas and offer free/discounted tickets to get new people in. Not rocket science that getting enthusiastic people out and talking to folk will bring in some new fans long term, if even a handful of them decide to come back then its more fans who might introduce the sport to more people. I know they occasionally do days at McDonald's etc but there's potential for far more engagement offline as well

Emailed the letter today directly to Jack. Said I don't mind if it's a no thanks, just want to know it's come from the directors rather than a threatened volunteer preventing it getting to them. Have also mentioned that other people have sent offers via social media and being ignored. Can only see what happens

Also Fife Pride events etc. Lots of community stuff goes on throughout the period and zilch. What effort does it take a player or somebody dressed as Geordie to engage ? And rewards are immense.

That’s more than I expected I have to say. Hopefully you will get the chance to help make some positive changes. The old cynic in me wonders where your earlier correspondence went. Looking forward to hearing your future updates.

I did highlight the fact I wasn't sure if the letter would have reached him, and also about other folk offering via social media and being ignored. Also said that while volunteers are essential and have a big contribution, they can't be working at a detriment to the club over letting new people in. We'll never make the progress needed if things just stay the same and no one challenges that.
Cheers to whoever posted his email address, will keep you posted.

Just curious, which email address did you send it to? Was it the one the club have shared in social media I think it's getinvolved@fifeflyers or was it jack@fifeflyers
Call me cynical but I'd imagine the getinvolved one would be going to the people who are hindering the club.

Correct. It certainly seems like Jack genuinely knows nothing about all these morons turning people away.

Correct. It certainly seems like Jack genuinely knows nothing about all these morons turning people away. If that’s the case and these people are hindering progress and potential income for the club, then these folk should be removed from having anything to do with the club unless they pay at the door like the rest of us.
